Hi,
I have question. How does glucose and insulin works together? For a weight loss is beneficial to have lower or higher insulin level? Im asking, because I was diagnosed as insulin resistant and put on 1000mg Metformin. I can not drop the pound. Can someone explain me this? If my glucose is in the perfect range why is this? What possibly could prevent this? Insulin?
Im female 33, 5'6" 135lb
thank you

Exogenius insulin is dosed at what normal levels would be at...I'm willing to bet money that you are not eating clean enough.

If you're pre-diabetic, the metformin will help your become more sensitive without bringing you to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Honestly, the best way to reverse this is to drastically change the way you're eating and limit the amount of carbs you're taking in. There are different recommendations on how many grams of carbohydrates you should consume per day, but I was very successful at 40g/day in not only dropping my glucose levels, but some fat along with it.

Being at the "perfect range" is not the only part of diabetes. It's also how your body reacts to eating and putting that glucose to use. It's a shame doctors don't encourage eating better instead of forcing drugs on us.

Honestly, let me give you some insight and this is coming from a hypothyroid person himself. First off, you probably have what a lot of thyroid patients have and not realize it. That is a grip of synthroid to be on. I am sure your doctor is mainly concerned about having your TSH reading in line. However, you are not being able to metabolize your food and drop the weight you are busting your ass for and I get that. I am thinking your body is not converting that T4 over to T3. When that happens, you build up what is called RT3 (Reverse T3) and that pools in your blood and blocks your receptors. That blocks active T3 from getting in to your system. It is basically being called a "Thyroid Tissue Resistant patient" which I am. The only way to get rid of the RT3 is to get on T3 only. That is just a shitload of Synthroid and I can almost guarantee you that you have had to raise that Synthroid dose over time. To me, that shows me that you are converting less and less. You need to do a thyroid panel blood test and test your RT3. Feel free to PM me or post your results and I can help you interpret those results. Good luck.

Hi,
thank you
Yeah i know i need tone up.. thats what im trying.
My thyrid blood test are in upper range both Free t3 and free t4 my tsh has always been 0.01 and lower. I have tried T3 therapy only, but without t4 i couldnt function. Doctor has already tried to put me on cytomel only, bc I had high RT3. I remember it was horrible, i gained, i felt dizzy, and my free t4 felt below normal range. Thats why today im back on synthroid 150mcg and cytomel 12.5. it has been my mystery.

I do weight lifting and cardio

Well, the issue is once you have RT3 pooling in your system, the only way to clear it out is to get on T3 only. There cannot be T4 in the mix so I think that is part of the issue. Worst case scenario, maybe you can lower your T4 and up your T3 and perhaps find a sweet spot. Also, look in to your cortisol levels and adrenal fatigue, etc.
