Creatinine levels at 1.4? 200mg test e

So I've been on 200mg test e for 4 and a half weeks now.. Just got some bloodwork back.. The only thing that stood out flagged was a 1.4 in creatinine (I ate a low protein diet and did not exercise a few days before testing I also do not supplement creatine) my test is at 1750 on 200mg of test E and everything else were in the normal range.. I'm 180 14-15% body fat and 6'2 (stay on topic PLEASE no questions about stats or knowledge of steroids please) I went to the urgent care and they ran some tests and said everything was fine in liver and kidneys but my creatinine levels are high.. And those are the ways they test for bad kidneys.. My bun is 18.. I'm not diabetic and blood pressure is normal. I'm a young adult as well. I also have lower back right side pain and the doctor wrote that off as well saying it was muscle related.. No other symptoms of kidney issues.. Just high creatinine and mild back pain.. I'm a healthy weight and not super muscular I was also very hydrated during testing.. Doctor says I'm fine but I'm still worried.. What do you guys think.. I know tests can show false highs but I did everything to prevent that.

They ran blood work and urine work.. And 4 months ago I had a cat scan of stomach area and they never mentioned anything.. Also sent me home saying everything was fine.. I don't get it

In context of all the other stuff you wrote, you should definitely not freak out about a single off test result.
I've had creatinine (GFR) value supposedly indicate stage 3 kidney disease, then come back well within normal the next time. The tests themselves are not perfect.

I don't ignore test results, but I've learned not to get wigged out about one or the other borderline out of range results.

Since you know that your test is somewhat out of range, you are probably on the lookout for problems. Maybe cut back a bit from 200mg/week for enhanced peace of mind. If you're eating a low protein diet you may not be getting all that much benefit from your high test levels.

Yeah but you are probably a way more muscles guy that had a high protein diet during testing :/ I did everything I could including not touching a weight and eating 20g protein a day for a week before testing.. 1.4 indicates stage 2 kidney disease I'm 23 years old.. I don't get it.. Why is he saying this is normal

Because its his job to NOT treat a disease or condition when there is no clear evidence that a disease or condition actually exists.

a one time minuscule elevation out of range in blood work is not a huge issue.

The bolded has the rebel in me begging to play and start off with telling you that you're not only wasting your time with such a small cycle, but you're also too young. I can only imagine (I really do hope you didn't mention AAS) what you told the folks at the urgent care, but that's spilled milk - and a permanent medical record. Oops!

On the bright side, you can relax about being dehydrated during your blood draw. ;)

(less fluid gives a poor ratio in your blood/urine to the solids markers)

I'll be nice and hope that you build on that steroids knowledge we're not supposed to ask about by reading the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum - which would have been a good idea about five weeks ago. :wiggle:

Halfwit this topic is not about steroid use so that's why I'm saying stay on topic. Elevated creatinine is not realated to higher test levels as far as I'm aware. High protein diet and lifting however is.. But i avoided both of those and had a 1.4.

I think you overreacted. 1.4 creatinine does not constitute a trip to the ER. That does not indicate imminent kidney failure. You can live perfectly fine for the rest of your life at 1.4. And your eGFR was normal.

What medications are you taking? A lot of them get processed by the kidneys. NSAIDs like ibuprofen for example can really mess up some people's kidneys for example.

And hydration is really important. Drink a lot of water for three days before your next labs and it most likely will improve your numbers. Make sure you are pissing clear all day.

I had this same problem a few months ago and my main doctor freaked out a little because my number was 1.5 which made me freak out. The following morning I got on this forum asking for help and Megatron told me to check my water intake. I thought I was drinking enough water till I actually tracked it for 2 days and found out I was only consuming about 3/4 of a gallon. I have since nearly doubled that every day and my levels dropped to 1.3 and that was without cutting down my protein at all.

Since then I have also talked to a sports doctor friend of mine who basically told me not to worry to much if your numbers are a little high. According to him just about every weight lifter he has ever worked with had slightly elevated creatinine levels, some higher than others. When we workout hard our body produces more waste than normal which is the creatinine, therefore our kidneys have to work harder to filter it out. Problem is our kidneys will only work so hard at the filtering process so higher levels get dumped into our urine making it look like there's a problem. He also said that crossfitters have even higher numbers than normal bodybuilders and weightlifters and it's mostly because they don't drink enough water.

Hope this made sense Op? Don't worry about your slightly elevated number, just make sure you keep getting your bloodwork and keep an eye on that number...If it spikes like in the 3 range then worry!
