Aromatase enzyme is very concentrated in the skin. That's why most people end up converting the gel to estrogen. Then SHBG raises and you wind up worse than when you started. Shots are best.

Sex hormone binding globulin. It pretty much holds onto the testosterone you're producing to where it doesn't get utilized. So if you have a high testosterone level but high SHBG also, you're not doing as well as what your test level is showing.

You need to be familiar with all of these terms, google, wikipedia. If you're going to be on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), you want to know these things man

So would shgb levels appear in bloodwork? Im assuming yes, thanks for your help I'm doing my best to be educated this is why I'm asking

only if you ordered the shbg test

I'd test:

Total Testosterone
Free Testosterone
SHBG
Estradiol (sensitive)
Free T3
Free T4
LH
LSH
TSH

maybe Cortisol, Prolactin

This should give you a good idea of where you stand. This is a suggestion, I'm not a doctor

ive had bloodwork done twice in the past 12 months, my dr. never discussed shgb, however I have the results and will check when I get home. what is normal range for shgb?

You want it in the 20's I believe. The range posted on the bloodwork isn't necessarily "normal" if it's in the high range. Just like test, most tests show high 200's as "normal", but that's a load of sh*t
