Cycling Test and HRT

I've been cycling Test Cypionate (350mg/week) - preety much alone - except for HGH (2.5U/day). SInce I'm over 50 - I've decided that I need to keep on Test (all the time) as HRT at at lest 150mg per week. Believe me - the sex drive, etc all went when I reached 50 - maily due to andropause.

Has anyone heard of doing this? I know you can take 150 Test Cyp pretty much all the time for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). But can you cycle higher (say 350mg per week for 10-12 weeks) and still maintain effectiveness? No point in cycling to get strength and muscle gains if you cant keep it up anyways. TIA

Don't self perscribe... go to a life extension clinic and let them determine what you need.

Don't worry, because of your age, you need it, so its not like they aren't going to give it to you, its just you are better off with a professional looking over what you are doing.

i think a good idea would be to do say 400mg per week for 10 - 12 weeks to build muscle then go down to 200mg per week for the hrt purposes and to maintain the muscle...but hrt is for life which means you don't come off. this is just my opinion...there are much more enlightened people on this board than i who will have more info...

150mg/week brings many (most) men to supraphysiological testosterone levels and is hence not testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Proper bloodwork is required to determine the appropriate dosage.

As for simply deciding to do self-prescripted testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) because you are older .. that makes no sense. Come off, do appropraite PCT, wait a month, and get appropriate bloodwork to determine your testosterone levels.

I guess I haven't been clear .... The 150mg per week (actually the Dr. said 200mg/week - but I don't think it needs to go that high) is Dr. prescribed. Its the extra 200mg (cycle) that is not prescribed. The initial 150mg. brought my endogenous free Test levels from less than that of my wife (about 9!) to that of a very horny 18 year old.

I guess what I'm unclear about is why people think its not OK to take test for HRT without a Dr.'s Rx and it is OK to take it for for muscle gain (cycling) without a Dr.'s Rx?

Oh well .. the question still stands - assuming that my "baseline" added test is 150 to 200mg per week for the rest of my life (and yes, without it - I have the test of a middle aged woman) - will it still work if I cycle to 350mg? Thanks again.

I think what you are asking is: will HRT levels still work (to keep libido and normal life) if I cycle above those levels for 10-12 weeks several times a year? The answer is yes.
