Damned elbow injury

Well it seems as if I have messed up this time. But to what degree I am not sure. The outside portion of my elbow hurts when I turn my wrist. It happened after a set of heavy dips on a heavy chest day.

Moves that hurt the most: overhead tricep extensions, dips, and...well pretty much everything tricep. The question is, does anyone think it is tennis elbow? The literature points to that injury. Doctor seems to think so as well.

Has anyone had some injury similar? Any ideas on the requisite rest period needed to recuperate?

Thanks all!

indeed without an mri or scan its very difficult to properly diagnose whats going on in thier, did the injury occur over time ? or was it an impact injury ? internal rotate ur wrist and externaly rotate ur wrist which one hurts more ?

It's my right elbow. I train for strength. All of my lifts are dynamic and forceful. It did not occur over time. It hurts most when I turn my hand palm up.

Any thoughts?

I have suffered from that doctors called tennis elbow when I was younger to what they now say is tendonitis (sp). Over the years I have lost flexibility and range of motion in elbow. I can no longer do any straight bar curls becuase I cant turn my hand all the way over. All upper body pushes (chest, triceps, shoulders) cause pain and soreness for about a day but I just push through it. It has been about 10 years and it hasnt totally quit on me yet. (Im 27). Best of luck on getting and staying healthy.

hmm i would suggest u lighten ur loads and talk to a gp who will refur u to a specialist , the gentleman above is a prime example of what happens if you leave it be . Get on top of it bud

No problem. You def wanna get this checked out. All the doctors that I had seen told me the same thing. "Light lifting". Please keep this thread updated.

I've had something similar in the past. I used to get it real bad when doing skullcrushers. IDK if it was tennis elbow but the pain would start out near my elbow and kinda radiate outwards. It was like a deep ache, and it hurt the most probably about an hour after I would finish my workout. I remember sometimes driving home and not being able to move my left arm because it hurt so bad. I don't do skull crushers as frequently now, and if I do I don't go so heavy.

Well, here is the end of this story. A 2mm tricep tear at the elbow. Really rare. The surgery is invasive and could possibly do more damage than good. So I decided to get back into lifting hard and strengthened every muscle that originates, inserts, or transverses the elbow. I still have the pain, but now I am back to powerlifting.

Godspeed guys!

P.s. Go easy on the dynamic dips.

Damn that sucks bro. You might want to try that TB500 peptide. It has helped a lot of guys I know with injuries.
