My gym has hexagonal plates and I was wondering if it's better to try and lift off the floor all the while commiting to bad form by lifting up and not pulling back first or set it up in a rack as low as possible so I start by pulling back instead of intially lifting up?

Thoughts?

You can't pull back until you are standing up, if I am reading what you are saying correctly...

The PL guy who is helping me train told me the first move to make is pulling back and then up. I was told NOT to pull up immedielty but slightly back and then move up. Wrong?

Pull singles and reset after each one. I used to use those plates, they suck.

if the collars spin and you are resetting (which is better than touch and go) they may jar you a bit when you set the weight down..

i hate them i like regular ol round plates :)
