Deadlifts?

So here's the deal. If I want to do 12 sets of 8 reps on 75% load, it's just a fact that my hands are going to go. But if I have the muscle capacity to keep training, there's no reason to stop. People that don't use barbells or don't train exclusively on barbells just don't recognize this.

I was not lying when I said 100% of the lifters at the olympics train with straps. They train with straps so they can train longer, not go heavier, because obviously, they're not allowed to use straps at the Games. On the other hand, they only need six reps at the Games.

why are you deadlifting 12 sets of 8 reps? why.

Fuck, I couldn't leave it alone. That bit about straps are for sissies really fucking burns me up. What else is for sissies? Tacky when you're doing an atlas stone run? Tape on your forearms when you're doing husafell stones? How about weight lifting belts? Singlets? Tape on my thumbs when I hook grip? What the fuck, man? Seriously, I'm angry and I realize it's not you (I missed a big lift at the gym, and I'm still pissed), but that's just fucking ignorant.

For the most part, everything I read in your argument is safety based. I don't think don thinks safety based products like belts are for sissies but straps really don't belong in this category. I think they tend to handicap guys too maybe even jack with them mentally. I am in the group of don't waste your money on these. Your forearms/grip will get stronger and it will get there fast and you will be able to handle the big deads or whatever strap free. Just my opinion.
