Dude FOB's are just smaller than camp's. YOur getting lucky. Both times to Iraq and Afghanistan, we were stuck in fucking COP's and JSS buildings with fucking IA IP and AA and AP. So your good at a FOB. Anyways in Baghdad, and Logar we got our shit from the AP and IP bro. We had some huge dudes as terps so we got lucky that they had sources for gear. You can go that route or get a source that sends to APO's cause they dont check your mail coming in, or just get the shit sent to your addy in the states then have your girl or bro send it to you there. Well, last year we were in Marjah, and even FOB Marjah was a complete shithole. Nothing there. I'm not entirely sure exactly which FOB we're going to this time, but it's in the same area. Hopefully I'll have a means to Western Union. All of our terps last year were tiny and pretty much worthless, so I'm going to assume that's a no go this time too. I'll just have to try and Western Union and have a buddy send it. My girl wouldn't do it.

why would they? they only care when you come back... then they're anal about it
at most they check your gear as in your issued gear and make sure you got what you need. anything you bring after that is on you. thats how it was for me both times.

I meant to put states then. They never cared about what I brought overseas. It was comin back when they cared with all the customs like you've mentioned
