what ever you do dont eat those protein bars they are very high in carbs and meant to be meal replacement not a snack.

some good snacks are nut & seeds. stay away from cashews which are kinda high in carbs also any sugar or roasted honey ones.

Here's a few great choices for travel. I do this a lot:

1. make a batch of protein pankes and store in an air tight container. Adjust for low carb by using very little oats.

2. lots and lots of jars of sweet potato baby food.

3. Better Protein Bars by NTBM. They are 100% all natural, very good quality and very portable.

4. Almonds, Natty PB, granny smith apples.

hope that helps.

cold cuts... whole chickens.. avocados.. hummus.. walnuts.. chestnuts.. cashews.. natty pb.. natty almond butter.. canned tuna.. roast beef..

any vons... ralphs.. or supermarket has a deli... usually these places sell whole chickens that are cooked.. take the skin off.. its like 200g protein for a whole chicken (the fat content runs a lil high.. be careful)

Pancakes as I like em:

6 eggs(1 yolk)
1c oats
1 1/2 scoops casein
2 tbsp natty PB
1/4c FF cottage cheese
1/4c all natty non sugar applesause
1/2c blueberries
1/2 bannana
1 tbsp molly mcbutter
1 tbsp splenda brown sugar
1 tbsp cinn
1 tbsp vanilla xtract

when in low carb contest prep take out the yolk, fruit, cottage cheese, applesause, PB and use 1/4-1/2c oats. I also like the sugar free syrup.

I have brought these with me on a week long trip in a hotel with no fridge and they were fine for the 4 days i ate them til they were gone. Also bring an entire freezer bag size full of protein. The better protein bars dont need refridgeration either.
