diet is most important

just a sad story.... i was lifting a month and a half ago, and during my warmups i felt a weird pain in my wrist. i thought i was invincible so i went into my set(bench) and my wrist just took a shit on me. so i took so time off to recuperate (because it hurt to put up 225) and i slacked on my diet. now granted im not in the shape of a bodybuilder but i was getting jacked and somewhat ripped on the 5x5 (in part to an impeccable diet and running program) one day i decided to cut back to three meals a day and stop cardio because i wasnt able to lift heavy with my wrist... that was my mistake... i want to forewarn every1 that 6 meals a day (clean meals) is the minimal amount that a person should take in... i lost most of my strength and size because of the three meals... so for whoever reads this make sure you diet properly cause it is the most important part of training.....just my 2 cents

don't sweat it, just start training again and it will all be back faster than it took to put it on the first time. Muscle memory is great.

thanx for vote of confidence... but main objective of that rant was that diet is everything

agreed! One of THE most underated aspects of lifting

But it isn't. Your bench isn't going to go up with diet, and your arms aren't going to move much either. If I eat well but don't train, where is it going to get me? Into the health fanatic hall of fame?

So while diet is probably oft underestimated, it is not everything. You can't have one without the other.

I'll have to throw in the genetics towel on this one. Some people can get huge eating three a day. Others need six to get good results. The same way some people can traing each part twice a week and some can't. In the end they wind up being equally important for Average Joe. I for one saw awesome gains when I simultaniously decided to get more protien in my diet (3 meals a day +post workout) and stop training each muscle every 4 days.

Fuck genetics, its good old hard work.

Training, diet and sleep, if one is lacking they all lack.

And bro, if youre diet was more or less perfect as u said, then you would have known what happens if u eat more or ledd nothing/day...
good luck getting back!

I smoked a pack a day + for about 7 years. That was the best fucking cigarrete of the day, better than after meals and better than after sex.

yes it is... theres nothing like gasping for breath after a long run... and sucking down some nicotine to further stress the lungs

i dont understand how some ppl can neglect their diet?
i like eating, because when i eat i imagine myself as a lion( i know its stupid but makes me motivated) and i eat as much as i can,and "imagine" my muscles grow while im eating

yeah...goddamn cigs...i've quit 3 times...all for training...get hurt...take a break...start smoking again....for some reason i can't quit this time.....all in the mind man

there are no scientifically proven physiological proof of nicotine withdrawals...but shit..DSM IV
