Dieting down is killing confidence.

Ok, so two weeks ago, I started dieting down for SB (flying out this Friday). I didn't get as big as I should have before I started, but regardless I needed to lose a little fat around the midsection. Basically, I cut my carbs in half (roughly to about 300g-250g), and some days would go pretty low w/ carbs (like 150), but I tried to keep my protein intake to about 40-50g every 2-3hrs. Carb cutoff around 2-3 hrs before bed and 40g micellar casien before bed. I was doing medium intensity cardio about 2-3 days a week w/ 1-2 days of a some high intensity sports activity. In the last week, I've noticed that I've lost a lot of size. My bodyfat has definitely gone down, but my abs didn't come through like I hoped, and now I just look slim. I haven't weighed myself in the last few days, but a week ago, I was the same weight I was before I started dieting, but my bodyfat was down.

-My main question: Do you think carbing up these last 3 days prior would help me increase muscle size, with minimal fat gain? I want to try to fill the muscles without filling in the fat I lost. I was thinking about going back to my 400g-500g/day (complex besides post workout). Carb cutoff the same.

-And how much muscle tissue could I have lost in the past 2 weeks? I'm thinking this is more mental than anything, and possibly just that my muscles are depleted from the low carbs.

So today I started w/ about 110g complex carbs (oatmeal, and a little frosted mini wheats) and about 12oz worth egg whites.

Thanks for the help and sorry for the novel. Just tryin to get it all down for you; and me.

BTW - Low 20s, 6-5, about 225-230lbs. Judging from my current condition, I'm guessing my BF is around 10%, as it was 12% during Christmas time.

you will tend to look flat when you restrict carbs . upping them just before leaving should help .

I started cutting recently, having very low carbs around 100g/day (50g breakfast, 50g PWO). I look very flat during the week, but on my cheat days when I carb up - everything really fills up. It always shocks me what a difference it can make. It's actually quite drastic, at least in my case.

So you think like 3 days straight will be too much?
i dont think so , but one of the bodybuilders would know more about carb depletion/loading than i would .
