Diminished appetite: Reasons and Remedies

Pantalones

This has been an ongoing struggle of mine for at lest 4 months or so now. I'm currently 19, on 100 mg of test cyp a week for TRT purposes (yes I understand this could have gone in the TRT forum, but there seems to be more traffic here, and this could also apply to AAS). A year ago I was on androgel and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), and was consistently hunger..okay, well by consistently I mean literally all the time. I'd probably eat upwards of around 3,500 calories a day, now its more like 2,000 and that's forcing it. I wake up with absolutely no desire at all to eat breakfast, and don't even feel remotely hungry until about noon or so. I eat breakfast regardless of this, but its just annoying. Despite all of this, I try to maintain regular meals, which isn't that hard even though I have classes at random hours throughout the day. I've tried to self-remedy this by injecting B12, which I guess has helped at least a bit but I'm still not at the point where I have a healthy appetite again. With this I've lost a little over 10 lbs, which is frustrating but eh, not much I can do. I'm just looking for a little input on what guys do here if they're lacking in the appetite department. Thanks.

So many things to hit but strictly keeping it to food....i'll try lol ok..

Simple answer would be to take it easy and ride it out. If you have been at it for a while you're body may just be telling you it needs a break. Eating a ton of food on a regular basis does put a lot of stress on you digestive system and body. Try straying from your normal diet and spice things up for a couple of weeks.

Not so simple answer. You could look into peptides. The normal age range doesn't apply as strickly with them as AAS. Juced Porkchop wrote up a nice sticky on them (I will post at the bottom). A combo of GHRP-6 and CJC 1293 can send your hunger through the roof. The cause would be the GHRP6 but you need the CJC ran with it. Both would be at about 100mcg x 3 daily. You need to research, research, research before using them.

Lastly don't go with the whole force feed yourself mentality. That's akin to pushing heavy weight, feeling your bones breaking, and still continuing to push. There is a point when you have to stop and make sure you aren't doing more harm than good.

I have been sick for a while now. Literally wanting to throw up all day. Decided to start running the peptide combo again (I had started before but had decided to hold off) and my biggest problem now is the hunger. I just finished eating and I feel like I missed my mouth or something. Still hungry.

edit: And just to add man, it can be a TON of issues. You may not be getting enough fiber in your diet, your digestive system may be all jacked up because of poor diet (by poor I don't mean eating clean, I mean your body getting the correct vit / min in order to keep the digestive system functioning as it should.) And on and on. You might want to take a step back, look at all aspects of your diet, rest, etc. Make sure all is on point (hit up 3J if needed). Take that time off and eat what you want, come back and see if anything changes. Hell go to the doctor.

how long have you been on the b12? I take b12 injections also 1250mcgs/ml eod. Withing that first month I was eating like a beast then slowly i noticed a huge drop in appetite. I stopped the shots for about 2 weeks and started again and the hunger started all over. For me a short break was all i needed. hope that helps

I take Cyproheptadine tabs 4mg / 5 per day. It increases hunger like no other drug. I also take dried yeast 3 times per day which adds to the hunger.

Are there any adverse side effects to Cyproheptdine? Or I guess anything that's really significantly harmful? I really don't want to have to dig any deeper than I already have on this one lol. I've gone to the doc, twice, and everything came back good. No nutrient deficiencies, testosterone, thyroid, everything checks out. I guess I'll just keep experimenting.

This also goes along with my (PROBABLY STUPID AND INACCURATE) theory that for some odd reason, test cyp doesn't do much for me. On androgel I gained 60 lbs of lean mass and felt beast. My doc ran me around 1,200 ng/dL. On cyp I carry a lot less mass, feel weaker, and eat a lot less with levels also around 1,000 ng/dL. Its confusing, but the only thing I could think of is that my body can't remove the cyp ester, but seeing as the androgel testosterone wasn't attached to an ester my body could just use it directly. I don't know if trying some prop would hurt, if anything I'd at least test this theory. Honestly its really hard to believe, but I can't think of anything else considering all my BW's good. I know I'm not ready to cycle or I'd try that.

Keep in mind too that androgel tends to aromatize more, so that extra mass you gain could be water if you're not using a solid Aromatase inhibitor (AI). The only non-medical things I can think of that could curb your appetite is if you go into starvation mode too long by spacing out your meals for really long periods of time or if you're on a keto diet with really low carbs. I'm almost never hungry when keeping carbs at 15g/day since the fat replacing the carbs would keep me satiated for long periods of time. Hope you can get it figured out!

I have used Cyproheptdine for 6 months and noticed nothing different in terms of side effects. Of course there would be something but same with Aspirin etc.... It's pretty cheap to buy.

Seriously the dried yeast works too. It contains Vitamin B in it.

I had a spell of non-eating / appetite issues and lost weight. These products massively increase appetite for which a meal I would just struggle to eat, can now eat 2 of them and still feel hungry. My gut is so big now with the amount I can consume!

I've thought of that many times but that doesn't fit my situation. Maybe some of it was water weight, but I can't deny the fact that I've lost a lot of lean mass. I look twenty pounds lighter and am a lot weaker in my lifts. I feel like its all on been going downhill.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time I've heard people suspecting the cypionate ester being incompatible with their bodies. Maybe try enanthate and see if you notice a difference?

Wait..just suspecting, or have you heard of people who have switched to prop or enanthate and experienced better results? I'm literally willing to go to crazy lengths to feel good again.
