Dips (weighted or not)

Ive read that alot of you guys reccomend weighted dips or dips overall for good chest growth. I am wondering how dips affect the chest as it is more for triceps and shoulders with lats as secondary muscles being worked...How does this improve chest mass??
 
I can only speak for myself but weighted dips with particular attention to good form, have given me much better results than bench presses. In the offseason I make weighted dips a big part of my workout and they really thicken the pecs, (weighted dips=big pecs)
 
Many people prefer dips to benches. I, myself get better gains from benches...but weighted dips are a close second.

IMO they should not be left out of any size building routine.

Keep your elbows out wide to stress the pecs more, and lean into the movement instead of remaining upright.
