ok you see the smaller circle inside the bigger circle?is that the right spot?View attachment 546369

then i take it I would inject at a downward 45 degree angle? i have never aspirated but i can figure it out. look sound good bros?

I don't pin in my glutes as quads are so much easier to pin with your non-dominant hand. I can tell you though, don't inject at a 45 degree angle or you're likely going to be injecting into your subcutaneous fat, not the "belly" of the muscle. You want to inject at 90 degrees (perpendicular) to the muscle. There are some really good videos on youtube if you're still not sure.

Aspiration is no longer recommended, so that's up to you. I have had my doctor and his two nurses beat that into my head as I always want to aspirate. Just do yourself a favor and make sure you're comfortable before you inject, or you're going to wiggle that needle a lot and cause a TON of pip. Good luck! :)

yup 90 degrees is the way. For glutes I have been told take your thumb and put it just above your butt where it meets your back then rotate your pointer finger down, where the webbing in between your thumb and pointer meet is where you want to shoot.

As far as aspirating the word is out on there Ive had multiple nurses and docs tell me do it and there are plenty on here that do it. Glutes are a pain the ace IMO i only do the right one as i dont trust my left hand to do the other side. Quads I can sit down and see what I am doing.

yes it was! and thanks guys.does the spot look ok?

Divide your glute into four quadrants. You want to inject into the upper outside quadrant, your pic looks a little bit towards your illiac crest (hip) to me.

@300winmag: Yeah, I had always been told to aspirate before this last year when I started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), but was told this is no longer needed by my doc. For folks curious about this, there's some good information at nursingtimes.net/nursing-practice/clinical-zones/prescribing/are-techniques-used-for-intramuscular-injection-based-on-research-evidence/1952004.article.

My $.02 :)

Ahhhhhhhhh i did in the spot. Was that too high? Im still good right?

dude you need to see shrink, just go with it. I think all the information has been given that can be given. Check youtube. it just takes practice. You cant really hurt yourself, worst case scenario your a little sore. But if your this worried about all of this then dont do it.
