Waiting to die.

OK, finished breakfast, now to try to get some work done. I need to hit that little productive window after the coffee kicks in, but before the tequila starts.

Read through page 82 on this thread
i did.. nothing about him bro..

I mean like 3 times a week compound lifts similar to Doc's routine...powerlifter type of workouts
No a whole lot of isolation involved.
And by split I mean the typical 5x a week iso style training
Good point.
I'll probably just finish out this diet till the time of when the show was going to be...
Then pay 3J for another month and pack on the calories.
Got a question for you guys.
So I want to dabble in some strength training cus I need to focus on some core strength and strength in general. but I love splits too.
Does it make sense to like cycle back and forth? Like 8 weeks strength training followed by 8 weeks of split training, then repeat? I actually know an Olympia powerlifter that does this.
Thoughts?
Not shunnig per Se. He's pretty busy with some projects he's got going on and felt he didn't mesh with this forum like he would have liked to. He's on other forums, a mod on one, plus the projects, etc and just is busy. He's got no hard feelings for anyone and does in fact really enjoy interacting with some of the members here.
That's not a split though really.
Upper/lower
Push/pull/legs
Bi's+tris, legs+core
are examples of splits
What movements you choose to do and what rep/set scheme you use determine if you're building strength, size or a little both.
I guess I can understand Austinite not spending time here, but I really don't see why he would delete all of his posts.

It just seems a really strange way to torch bridges on your way out of town. I can't help but think something negative happened. Do any of the admins know anything?

imo, that's the most curious part.
Lol I se what your saying...still new to the lingo
Well then what I mean is, focus only on strength training (similar to doc's routine)
Then switching to.focusing mainly on size.
Like 8 to 12 weeks at a time.
12 weeks strength, 10 weeks size, and back and forth.
Make sense now?

If you want to keep doing splits, base them around the 4 mains. So you'd have:
M - Squat
T - Bench
W- Off
Th - Press
F - DL
Or however you want to set it up. Add in assistance and accessory work accordingly on each day. I'd recommend using 5/3/1 for progression on the main lifts, and something like 4x8 for accessory movements. I believe Avido is currently running something similar, I know he uses 5/3/1... and I plan on following this when I am unable to progress with SS anymore. This is something you can follow year round and won't have to switch back and forth. You should be able to progress for a loooooong time using 5/3/1 too. I'm sure Doc and Avido will both pop in on the subject.
Also, why not just do SS for now? As long as you're eating, you won't get smaller. You might not add shape like you would on a BB routine, but you WILL pack on muscle and from what I've found you will have a much "denser" look to your muscles once you move back to BB (this is from looking at other's physiques not personal experience). Hell, even Arnie started out as a powerlifter.
