I wouldn't say that it's the absolute best.. I would argue that Cottage Cheese is equally as beneficial prior to sleep. The goal is to have a protein, but one that is slow digesting. Preferably with little to no fat, and as little carbs as possible or simply 0. There are a couple others also... Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt, Casein Shakes. Also, the beef should be very lean. It's just to have something keeping your metabolism burning hot as long as possible while you're not eating for 8-10hrs. Hell, I think I read somewhere.. and this could be complete shit, but for the movie Pain and Gain, Mark Wahlberg got up mid sleep and ate a shake.. He may have, although I doubt that's his "secret". If he did, it would make sense if you consider what I've explained above.
