Somebody more qualified will chime in soon.

What time are you eating your other meals? Is this happening just once? If so, I wouldn't worry. If it's how it's gonna be from now on, knowing what your other meal times and goals are probably something others may ask for before giving you a definite answer.

The only thing I know for certain is that your last mean should be beef. Beef takes more time for the body to break down than chicken and such.

I have seen people who are the philosophy that as long as you get what you need in by the end of the day then it doesnt matter when you eat then. Which I dont agree with at all.

You want to space you meals out evenly throughout the day preferably no more than 3 hours apart 4 hours max so that you ensure a steady stream of aminos in your bloodstream.

But with all that said, if you have to skip a meal or have one a little later or earlier because something came up, well thats life. Stressing over that probably is more harm then not having the meal when you were supposed to.

I wouldn't say that it's the absolute best.. I would argue that Cottage Cheese is equally as beneficial prior to sleep. The goal is to have a protein, but one that is slow digesting. Preferably with little to no fat, and as little carbs as possible or simply 0. There are a couple others also... Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt, Casein Shakes. Also, the beef should be very lean. It's just to have something keeping your metabolism burning hot as long as possible while you're not eating for 8-10hrs. Hell, I think I read somewhere.. and this could be complete shit, but for the movie Pain and Gain, Mark Wahlberg got up mid sleep and ate a shake.. He may have, although I doubt that's his "secret". If he did, it would make sense if you consider what I've explained above.

To the Op, Shredder hit it well here. Life will throw obstacles at you all day long, just prepare yourself as best you can and pound everything out within your normal bounds as close as you can get it. If you have to eat 2 hrs early, just get it all in. It's not going to ruin anything for a single day, just don't make it a habit of course. If your schedule changes, change your eating schedule. Be water my friend (Bruce Lee quote) And remember 1 of 365 days is hardly anything to worry about.

Keep up the good work!

That makes sense, I mostly stick to the beef due to being lactose intolerant reducing my choices by quite a bit. At least I can have whey protein shakes provided it is created with a lot of care by the company. I have one that does. I wanted to try some from Solid Muscle, a board sponsor, but they are still "not accepting payments from your region at this time." :(
