Does sweating make you lose muscle?

Hello everyone,

I know this sounds pretty stupid and some of you would laugh but I train for years and this is the only thing that I can't get out of my head and f*cks up all my motivation for training.

So, I will try to explain to you guys:

There are days when I don't go to the gym by car and I use the bus half way and walk half way and I use to sweat a lot until I get to the gym, especially in the armpit area. Everytime I sweat under my armpit I feel like my arms are getting smaller and I can't pump them very well that day when I get to the gym...

When I go by car and don't sweat at all I feel my arms bigger and I really see this in the mirror. Also the pumps on my biceps and triceps are way bigger, so the arms are bigger...

I just hope this is all in my head, but I really see difference when I look into the mirror so I thought maybe when I sweat I lose water from my arms so this is why they are a little bit smaller...

Maybe someone can help me to clear this out.

P.S: I'm training for 4 years, I weigh 251 lbs, I'm into my first cycle but this happend when I was not on gear too, this happend everytime and was bothering me for years, I really want to clarify this thing out... Thank you everyone !!! :beertoast

LE: Also I always sweat a little bit more on my right hand which is smaller than the left one, especially the triceps

No, I don't have any ammonia smell in my sweat but I don't know what relevance does it have with the question I asked and the answer I wanna get...

a poor diet and exercise would cause catabolism... when that occurs your sweat smells like amonia.. its a classic sign..

that's the only time i see you would actually "lose muscle" from sweating.. lol

Unfortunately I can't rep you, again, but you know I love you :D

Guys you really don't understand me...

When I sweat (just like a normal guy I sweat because it's too hot in the bus or I walk a lot) and go to the gym I feel like I can't pump my arms to the max and when I look into the mirror my arms are not as big as they are when I go to the gym with my car and I don't sweat in my way to the gym at all. Sorry for the bad english, maybe that's why you don't understand me well.

So:

-When I go to the gym with the bus and I sweat because it's too hot, in the gym when I look in the mirror my arms are smaller.
-When I go to the gym with the car and I dont' sweat, in the gym when I look in the mirror my arms are much bigger and I also can pump them a lot more, I feel that they are more "Full of water "

Dude your question has been answered pretty clearly - YOU ARE NOT LOSING MUSCLE.

Worse case scenario, your losing some water from excess sweating and that might give you the illusion of looking "smaller". This isn't a big issue since it goes away the minute your rehydrated/carb up.
As for not "feeling the pump", this is again probably due to water loss, but its not a big deal because you don't need to "feel the pump" to make gains anyway - the pump is mainly a psychological thing & doesn't mean your not working the muscle.

Basically, your worrying over nothing :)
