Does this sound like a possible infection or even abcess?

I injected into my quad two nights ago. This was about an hour after a leg workout. The pin hit a hard spot about 2/3 way in, and I just pushed right through it. The next day it was really sore, and that night it hurt everytime I took a step. I thought I might have strained something, or bruised it. At that point, it just felt like a deep tissue bruise. The next day (today), it hurts only when I bend my leg (like a hammy curl) and when I push on it.

The painful spot is about 4 inches down and 1 inch over from where I injected, and there is a slight red discoloration that starts from the injection site and goes about to where the pain is. I'm not sure if this discoloration could be due to me rubbing on it, but I'm trying to stop so I can see if its still discolored. It is also warmer than the surrounding areas...

BTW - It was 1.25cc of QV Test Prop, and it was about my 8th injection in th thighs.

What do you think this could be?! Hopefully just a muscle strain/nerve or something - but it seems to be fitting the description of a abcess. It's hasn't even been a full 48 hours since the shot - I believe abcesses take longer to form.. but I may be wrong.

Weird shit happens when you put a piece of metal in your leg... but abcesses don't form in 2 days.

So how long should I give it before I get worried? Its just a big red patch, about 5" by 2.5" and much warmer than the surrounding area.

It could be an abcess forming, I would suggest you wait a few days until you can be sure, if you bruised some tissue it will probably calm down within a few days, if it gets worse then it may be an abcess.

from what you've described and my experience with quads (fave site) You hit a nerve, The pain/cramps can last up two 4 days depending on what you went through. See spotinjections.com. or grab a friend with more experience to help a brother out.

If the pain isn't gone in a week then i'd go see the doctor, But i've hit a nerve before, and i was cramped for a couple days, My excuse.. too many squats ;)

Based on the best of my understanding, some of those quad injections over at spotinjections.com are a bit too far to the outside of the leg.

See, I do mine pretty much right in the center of the outside, maybe a little above the IT Band. The one thing that is concerning me the most is that the area where I injected isn't sore at all, its about 4 inches below and and inch to towards the inside, and the discoloration starts where the inject was and goes to where it hurts.. what the hell happened?

Ok, the pain from walking is mostly gone, its still a little tender when I touch it, and its still discolored..

When you get abcesses - do they only hust when you press on them?

And do you think its ok to take another injection from the vial? I haven't had this problem w/ the other injections I took from it, so I don't think it is the gear..

You better go get that checked bro, or post a pic on it and let us see.

I wouldnt think it is the gear.

Best wishes.

it could be many things man.... but ill tell u that when i was using qv enathate i had some thigh injects that left my sorry ass barely able to walk and red and hot to the touch, but turned out just fine in the end. so i dont know what to tell ya...

maybe give it a lil bit longer and see how things go and if it stays the same or gets worse id have it checked out

let me tell you, i got agood scare from a recent thigh shot. my god. went to see the doc cause it was so painfull and my whole thigh was swelling, had to get an emergency MRI he thought ihad a blood clot which could have ment the end. ended up that i was having an ellergic reaction to Primo, it has been almost a week and it still hurts bad and i can't bend my leg, anyway must be aware of your body.

Well, I talked to one of my trainers and he said it was prob something along the lines of a lactic acid buildup - I'm not sure of the exact term he used. He said they are somewhat common in the type of workouts I do (intense speed training) and it should be good in a few days. Of course, this was over the phone, and he doesn't know I'm on gear, but right when I started to describe it, he came up w/ that answer like he hears about it all the time, so hopefully that's it.

Your trainer probably doesnt know what he is talking about. I used to do quad injections but they hurt bad, many people love them though. Many times I would inject 2 cc's and the sound I used to hear when I injected was enough for me to stop, and the tightness and bruising assoc with this shot is more than I wanted to deal with. Everytime I squated down it would feel like it was almost tearing the muscle. I understand where you are coming from with your problem, DO NOT GO TO THE DR at this point. Wait a bit, you will know if an abscess is forming trust me.

Bro, if it is a (starting) abcess you will get a temperature rise (fever)..

bad injects in quads happen pretty frequently..possibly a nerve you hit..I injected in me rectus femoris a few times and damn..had to limp for a week..be sure to hit the vastus lateralis..

The gear should probabaly be good..so yes i would inject from that same vial again..

Maybe post a pic in the steroidpics forum bro..just to be sure..
