Just read an article on David Henry and he mentioned he did this type of training. I saw a few articles posted on ology. I was wondering if anyone has tried this and if so what results did you get? Would you recommend this? I have been doing something very similar and I have gotten GREAT results thus far. Thinking about switching my program so any help would be great!

I would look at www.intensemuscle.com if you're looking for DC info... that's pretty much DoggCrapp's home.

Do a search on here though, you'll find some info here. Plus InHuman posts here sometimes, and he knows the system inside and out.

Any results are "great", but there can always be "better", right? Someone that has 22" arms will want 23. Nothing ever seems good enough I guess.

if what you doing is working do not change a thing. 2+2=4.

and what does arms got to do with anything? i thought we were talking about lifting weights. you know, squats, heavy back work, deads, bench. that kinda stuff. :D

I guess my point was that in the iron game you should never be satisfied. But I feel like I need more structure to push me. My squats are at about 550 for 4 or 5, and my legs may be my best bodypart. I don't know anyone else personally that is that strong and its getting harder and harder to convince myself to push for more.

I know this! But that happens to be a pb for me. I like to keep my workouts changed up every couple months or so. You know to prevent my body from adapting to a certain program and also to prevent boredom. Not switching right away. Just trying to do more research on this style of training for when that time comes.

Yeah but why you wanna fuck around with a perfectly good system that workin for you?

As I said, I am not changing right away. Just doing research for when a change is needed. I do agree with you all on the "why change if it isn't broken concept". I usually start hitting a plateau at around the 2 month mark of a program. So I am in high hopes this program will be a nice change.

there are some powerlifters in nashville. you wanna get stronger? go find them and train with them. thatll be all the motivation you need.

"about 550 for 4 or 5 reps" sounds very vague. you guessing? any time i see even numbers on somethig that big a red flag goes up. that means you have to use 2.5lb plates.

heres what im talking about. my last squat day i hit 465 + 165 chains for a set of 5 with no belt and lite wraps. . there is no "about" or "or" in that statement.

if you have squatted 550 for 5 reps below parallel then you must have a good lifting program and know what you are doing. i messed with dc stuff for a few months and didnt like it. its for bbers not plers. its based on core movements to an extent but not entirely. if you hit 550x5 below parallel and you not competing then you wasting your talents. thats a big raw number.

what you benching and pulling?

I never said I was a powerlifter. I want to be a bodybuilder, a huge ass bodybuilder. And yeah, I've been slowly adding the 2.5s since 455. I do use belts and wraps. What I mean by "about" is that I can get 5 reps on my best day, usually get 4, and have had some days when it doesn't come back up.
I'm going to do my first show in 5 weeks (as a novice) but my thighs are probably my best bodypart. My chest is not too bad I don't think, and I've benched 420 for 2 during football training 2 yrs ago. It's not that big now, I'd say because I'm not doing it as much in favor of other exercises.

My body seems to have evened out some since I've been bodybuilding (1yr), but I've definately lost some size and strength on the big lifts. I'm looking for a program that might be the best of both worlds.

Within the year I bet I could get 550 for 5 reps, but I have no desire to compete as a PL.
1) I hate benching
2) Some dude that weighs about 150 will probably make me look like a fool :D

guess you answered your own question. why dont you try a powerlifting type routine to gain strenght and size. with your strength youd do very well on it. hard to get stronger without adding muscle.
