eating at night

Someone told me that when you're on cycle that it's good to have a piece of chicken or tuna,etc. to eat when you wake up at night to piss. (Actually AFTER you piss would probably be best :laugh3: )

Anyone have any thoughts on this? thanks.
 
if youre eating enough protein during the day it will make absolutely no difference whatsoever.

eat 2g per pound of bodyweight during your waking hours and get some sleep.

i would definitely consume a slow digesting protein before bed. Casein is an optimal choice. i would not go so far as to eat after you have already gone to bed. the body needs rest. eating would disturb the cycle.

to right mate i eat at night but im trying me hardest to bulk up so if im hungry ill eat no matter what time.

i can burn food off well easy so i need to eat and eat but only when im hungery,... night or day

Hook up an IV before going to bed, that way you get your food ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

Yeah, well with me trying to get every bit of that 2 gallons/ day of H2O, I think it's pretty much a given that I'm getting up a couple times a night to piss...
 
I agree that if you are already up and can fall back asleep with no problem, extra protein to break up the long fast can only help.
 
I just keep a protein shake (fast and slow acting proteins) at the bedside most nights. Either I drink it when I wake up during the night or first thing in the morning before showering.
 
I would say drink a protien shake instead of eating any kind of whole food meal when you wake up in the middle of the night. Eating whole food would take too long, and you need to get back to sleep to get your rest. While consuming a protein drink in the middle of the night isnt crucial at all to your overall success, I do believe it helps and adds a little something extra.

if youre getting enough calories in during your waking hours, what possible benefit will come from interrupting sleep, an intergral part of the recovery process, for more?

its inevitable that you will play the "ZOMG SLEEPEENG IZ CATABAWLICK!!!" card at this point, to which i have to say: 30g of casein protein takes upwards of 6 hours to fully digest and assimilate. Double that amount, and add some amount of fat and carbs to it, and you will still have ample aminos in your blood when you wake up (as in "wake up in the morning to start your day", not "wake up in the middle of the night to eat like an OCD fucktard").

I have a question about the casein: I have a protein blend that is a whey/soy/casein combo. Would this work for what you're talking about. I'm a little apprehensive to use it though because of what I've heard about the potential for soy to boost estrogen levels-not something I want to do.
What do you think?

i mean if youre up, and youre hungry, then yea sure eat or drink a shake or whatever, but dont purposely set your alarm for 2am.

that blend would be fine. cottage cheese works too.
