Eating Clean?

eating clean to me is pretty much no junk food.

In other words any calories taken in get put to good use by the body in terms of complex carbs, protein, good fats, vitamins, fiber.

6:00 am - 8 oz Egg Beater egg whites, 2/3 cup of oatmeal with 1 scoop of cinnamon whey protein. 20 oz water.

9:00 am - 2 scoops banana whey protein in 16 oz water.

11:00 am - 8 oz skinless baked chicken breast, 2/3 cup of rice, 1 small apple

1:00 pm - 2 scoops bannana whey protien in 16 oz water.

3:30 pm - 8 oz skinless baked chicken breast, 2/3 cup of rice, 1 small apple

6:00 pm - 2 scoops bannana whey protien in 16 oz water.

7 days a week, 365 days a year for the last 26 years.

No sugar, no "enriched" wheat, no processed junk like chips, crackers, etc. I eat animals, fish, vegetables, eggs, cheese, natural peanut butter, whey protein, whole wheat bread, oatmeal, rice etc. Fluids consist of water, water, some coffee. No milk, juice, soda etc.

By most or all of your groceries from the outside loop of your grocery store and you're in good shape.

I just always eat the same. Makes it easier

5PM 8oz chicken breast, ¼ cup rice
7PM 20g whey no suger protein shake, 20g carbs
9PM 8oz chicken breast, ½ cup rice, ½ cup veggies. (this meal varies but always includes lean meat, veggie and complex carb).

Eating clean means different things to different people.

Cashout and MoparMuscle you are to be commended. That is serious diet discipline. I could not imagine eating 9 times a day or the same thing every day.

As for me eating clean means no desserts or drinking alcohol during the week.

Holy shit! I'm sending you a fucking cupcake!

Cashout, I see you have a 12 hour window of no nutrients 6:00 PM to 6:00 am. I was under the impression that your body needs nutrients in the bloodstream so muscle can repair itself from your workouts at least through your waking hours. If not muscle can be used to fuel the body? Obliviously you know what you are doing, but what is the reasoning behind that big time lapse of no food?

I've learned my body cycles that specifically.

Over the years I've logged thousands of hours in the lab on the VO2 uptake monitor, metabolic estimator, and the like.

What I have found is that by early evening (6-7 pm) my body functions begin to dial down to about 80% of what they are at noon time.

By 10 pm, I'm typically asleep and my body functions continue to pull back to about 65% of what they are around noon time.

So, I learned to work with my metabolic cycle. There is not much going on in my body "after hours" so I manage my calories accordingly.

You'll also notice that most of my calories are pushed into the system before 3 pm - again by design to work with my natural cycles.

I probably average 4000 cals a day. i don't like chicken that much unless its covered in flavor because that's all my mom ever made me as a kid. haha steak is very good for u guys

Maybe your really are a cyborg.....lol

Or, maybe I've been eating your share of the goodies for those 26 years and its high time I stopped!

Cashout,

How much do you weigh and what is your target grams of protein per day and your total caloric intake?

Thanks

Today 180.4 pounds at 5'5"

I'm right around 7% body fat.

I try to follow a ratio of 2 grams of protein to 1 gram of carbs for each pound of lean body weight.

Using 7% body fat, I try to hit between 300 - 320 grams of protein and about 160-170 grams of carbs.

Total calories are around 2,600 per day.

For reference, attached are a couple of pics from about a month ago.
