EFA's in my diet

I've been doing research on omega 6's and 3's. Accordingly, I need a ratio of 3:1, (omega 6: omega 3). If I use flax oil and alomonds will I be covered?

How much flax oil do I use and if I want to put in my shake - should it be in am or before bed? (currently I am drinking egg whites and milk before sleep)

For almonds, I've been looking through the boards and think almonds and yogurt sounds yummy! How many handfuls of almonds are enough per day?

I found this link of EFA values if anyone is interested:

http://www.annecollins.com/dietary-fat/omega-3-efa-6-chart.htm

(at the bottom of the page there are also links that explain what each EFA does)

thanks for any help
:)

i personally don't supp with omega 6 because we get enough through animal sources...

i take fish oil as my omega 3 supp. i just posted an interesting article i found on flax in either this forum or the supp forum just a few days ago. you might be interested...

as for other efa's, yes, almonds are a good source... so is olive oil, etc.

I agree. personally I rely on fish oil caps for my omega 3's.
Have at least 2 servings of EFA's/day, each equaling a tablespoon, before bed is perfect time for one!

I take my efa's in my shake prior to bed to slow down my shakes protein absorbtion. Flax oil is all you need, it already has the proper balance. Personally I supplement with Udo's Choice.

thanks everyone, im going to continue with the flax and almonds... no one warned me this game was so expensive!
