Emergency Contraceptive while on var?

So I just started my second cycle of var I'm about a week in and last night my boyfriend and I had an accident. I was just wondering how bad an emergency contraceptive would mess my body up hormonal if I take it while on my cycle ? Has anyone done this before ? Should I not take the var the same day I take the Emergency contraceptive pill?? Should I stop taking var for longer ???
