Feedback about current protocol

I started on 150mg test for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and saw very little improvement. Doc then raised it to 250mg per week, which increased T but a experienced very high E with water retention (couldn't fit my watch on), itchy nips, and back pumps etc...added .5 adex every third day and reduced test to 200mg per week. I saw a little help with symptoms. I toyed with it a little and have good results but feel I still little too much water retention. Feedback would be helpful.

Current protocol:

200 mg Test (once per week)
.25 Adex EOD
250 IU Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) (two days before and day before Test injection)...thinking of changing to 300 (EOD) though...????
200mg DHEA daily
5mg progresterone cream 5 days on 2 days off
S4 50mg daily

Really want my boys to work (as I want kids one day)...want dry gains and continue to feel better. I need my weight in check because I still compete in certain weight classes... Any thoughts? Thanks.

You need to get a blood test done to see where you are coming in at so you can stop the guessing. Check your Total T and Estradiol. A great inexpensive way to do it it through Private MD - Buy Lab Tests Online. Get their Female Hormone Panel. Yes, I really said female. It is for men too. It will cost about $50 with a coupon code and you will have the results in a day or two. Read through the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) Stickies for more information on this.

Once you have your lab results post them on here (with normal ranges) and we will help you interpret them.

200 mg Test (once per week) - okay. that's fine. possibly break this up into 2 injections per week. that's been successful for some people.
.25 Adex EOD - that looks like about as much as most people can take before they start having issues of crushing their E2.
250 IU Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) (two days before and day before Test injection)...thinking of changing to 300 (EOD) though...???? Why would you switch this to EOD? The hCG is going to increase your E2 more than the T. More frequest hCG shots will likely further your estrogen issues.
200mg DHEA daily - Why are you taking this? You're on hormone therapy. DHEA can be used for men but is more effective for women. With that said, the benefits for men are more than taken care of by supplementing with exogenuous T. Where is your DHEA on the range and again, why is your doc having you take this?
5mg progresterone cream 5 days on 2 days off - Again, why is the doctor having you take this?
S4 50mg daily - Why are you taking this if you're on TRT?

You may want to look into changing AI's if you're having estrogen issues but get your lab work first so you know where you actually stand.

Just a preliminary analysis is that you have way too much crap going on and that it's going to be difficult to manage. More isn't better. Start subtracting things out so there aren't so many variables. If necessary, add them back in one by one.

I will do. My last lab had T at 826, and E at 137...they didn't do anything else and I had to request the E test cause of my symptoms. They didn't seem to care too much until the results came back. thanks.

Make sure you check E2 (estradiol). This is more important that checking your Total Estrogen.

My experience with T clinics and Dr.s. - do your own research, many of them follow generic protocols which can be less than optimal on a case by case basis for the individual..

Clinic had me at 150 a week for a year with minimal result - then jumped me to 250 week and my hematocrit and bp went sky high- AND THE DOCS DIDN'T KNOW WHY!!!

Do your homework, check your blood work - and don't take anybody's word on what's best for you

Cut the DHEA. You can pump so much DHEA that it backfills and throws off hormones like progesterone. I was taking large doses of DHEA and experienced the side effects first hand - after a doctor that was too trigger happy thinking DHEA was the answer to hormone deficiencies.

If you're not using the S4 to maintain lean body mass then dump it too.

Ok. So right now I'm leaving the 200 once per week test injection, 250 2 x per week HCG, and S4. Dropping DHEA and progesterone cream. Oh and keep .25 adex eod. I have doc ordering all the full hormone lab and then we can start over. I do the s4 mainly because i'm restricting diet for weight cut coming up.

You can do the .25mg of Adex EOD but my recommendation would be to go on an as needed basis. Judge by strength of erections. Take more or less as needed but be careful to not jump more than .25mg at a time.

With a single 200mg T shot, I needed .5mg Adex because I'm probe to bloating and acne. I followed up the next day with .25mg because my skin was greasey. At 160mg T, .5mg crashed my E2 too much and I could only do .25mg the day of T shot, 2 days later and with my two hCG shots the two days before the T shot.

Long story short, start low and work your way up.
