I would like to hear some feedback and opinions on the concept of personalized customization that I have created. It would really help to hear what everyone thinks. I really appreciate your help and feedback. I hope to utilize your thoughts to create a perfect business model. When we create a supplement for each individuals personal needs, we can yield better results. Thanks again!

I personally think it's a novel idea and has some potential. I know I'll probably give you a try once I get through the 15lbs of powder I have stockpiled.

The only real stumbling block I can see from an average Joe standpoint is that they may not know what each individual ingredient can bring to the table. For instance, many powders just put big numbers on the label and cite the BCAA content and a protein content with maybe something included like glutamine. The consumer probably doesn't even know what BCAA's are good for, don't know the difference between say casein and whey - not to mention what the heck glutamine even is.

I haven't looked at your site in awhile, but if you haven't already done this, I'd add information to educate the buyer - that way they are better able to appreciate exactly what you're offering.

Hope that makes sense. :)

Thank you very much for the reply sir. I do have the ingredient and description of what it is and how you can expect it to help you. I put these descriptions at the bottom of the "build you own shake" page, and I have it on a separate page titled "Our Ingredients". I do understand that most people do not know what these ingredients are or what the do for you. So I have included descriptions and definitions. Let me know if you see these descriptions or if I need to make them more apparent. Thank you very much!

Ahh, you have a link and a description at the bottom. I think that should be sufficient. I noticed you have a protein content per serving and state how many servings per order, what is the weight? I'd imagine based on cost that it's 2lb containers?

I disagree (see point 6 below). I just went on the site for the first time and here's my issues:

1/ ok I'm here on the front page and there's a lot of text I am never going to read, with only 3 products on the right, that are small, to click on with prices. WHen searching for protein powders you'll get a whole lot of people opening many pages in many tabs. You will lose a lot of people here as they don't get what they want, product. Certainly nothing that grabs their attention.

Compared to say Venom protein website

I have shipping details, best selling products, sales flashing across the top middle, and links to all product on the left

2/ I click on shop and see 3x4 rows of product. I don't know what half of them do by their names so probably won't click those ones

3/ It's the same picture for every product. Surely there's different packages for each product?

4/ Some of the products have no nutritional info, so I need to read the whole label. I wouldn't normally do this and ontop of 1/, I'd have closed your website already

5/ Every product seems to have 5 stars. I'd get rid of these, looks tacky and cheap.

6/ I'm on Build Your Own Shake, again, this requires a lot of reading. I'd rather see the ingredients, hover my mouse cursor over the name and get a shorter description. I'm not going to read for 5 mins down the bottom

7/ Add to cart and the box with number of packets required is down the page. Needs to be near the top. Having to scroll down 3x just to see that will also have lost you customers

8/ Otherwise, if you have discounts or decreased prices depending on the amount someone buys, you need to highlight that.

9/ a pet hate of mine: when companies have nutritional info and then don't have the nutrients per 100g of food, I usually tune out. By knowing that each bag is ~500g (1.2 lbs) and has X amount of protein etc per 100g, I can then compare versus other products. As, you probably aren't getting many first time buyers just by how hard your site is to navigate.

otherwise, it's a good idea that has a lot of potential. It just needs to be easy for the customer to access

Offering products by weight is a common deceptive tactic used by supplement companies. When a company offers a price by weight, this opens the door for them to add fillers and pointless ingredients to increase the weight and actually lower the protein content of the supplement. Lets look at BSN's Syntha-6 as an example, Syntha-6 by BSN at Bodybuilding.com: Best Prices for Syntha-6! The nutritional facts are also shown below.
Syntha-6 is one of the most popular protein supplements in the world, and I will show you how it is not only a poor supplement but how they use weight to deceptively sell a product full of fillers. The first thing you notice when you look is that is has 6g of fat per serving and 200 calories per serving. Not good for an ultra premium lean muscle protein powder. Now look at the serving size, 47.2g per serving. Now notice that there is 22g of protein per serving. Do some quick math and you can see that this supplement is less than 50% protein. You buy 5lbs of this and only half of it is usable product. Let's look in the ingredients and I see ingredients that are completely unnecessary and are used just as fillers to add weight. Sunflower powder, polydextrose, and MCT (Medium Chain Triglyceride) powder. MCT powder is just as it sounds, a fat powder. That is all it is. These are all fillers, so when you buy 2lbs, or 5lbs, you are only buying half that in useful product.

This is why I offer my products by number of servings per container. I have no fillers, and ensure I have a very clean, very pure, and a very high quality protein in my products. Although I print the weight, it is a better testament of how much product you are getting to go by amount of servings per container.

Thank you very much for the feed back. It is very valuable.
1) The homepage intent was to be a sales page for the rest of the site. A good sales page tells a story and creates trust between myself and the consumer. Maybe there is too much text and that didn't work. I do also have shipping details at the top. I am working out some sales, my prices were set lower than any other site out there, so they are already very low.

2) you are right, I know people don't want to do much reading, I can work on the shop page.

3) Because I customize and manufacture each product individually, I have one front label for each product. The back label is unique to each product, I should include the back label to the pre-made products.

4) I will work on getting easy to see labels up for every pre-made product

5) Only 3 products have been rated by real customers, those are the ones with 5 stars. I would never fake star ratings or reviews.

6) I wanted the definitions to appear when you hover the cursor over the ingredient as well. I had a web designer that did most of my site. I had to fire him for lack of production, then I taught myself how to do the rest of the web design. It is very hard and I can't figure out how to get the hover feature. I am working on the design and it will continue to get better.

7)I guess I am not sure what you mean here.

8) I agree, I will work on highlighting prices.

9) I have nutritional value per serving, which you can then compare to any other brand. I guess I am not sure exactly what you mean here either.

Very good feedback. Thank you very much. I really do appreciate it. email me at mycustomprotein@gmail.com, I will give you a discount and you can give feedback on the products themselves as well.

no worries man, happy to help, thank you for the offer as well, I'll definitely take that up.

I'll expand upon my points that weren't too clear:

7/ To add each product to a user's Cart, you need to scroll down the page to do so. I feel that should be up the top so a user will see the [1] Add to Cart and be influenced by it. If we assume some users DON'T scroll down, you're missing the opportunity they may see "add to cart" at the top of the page and click it.

9/ I have found out that's more an Australian health/food law. On all Australian packages they give the total calories per serve (say 35grams) as well as per 100 grams. Since every single package in Australia has the caloric breakdown per 100g, it's REALLY easy to compare like for like product. In fact, this is how I shop. I used to go to protein powder retailers (Mr Vitamins or VitaminKing in Australia) and then look up products in multiple webpages and then compare their nutrition side by side. That way I could see for two $80 products, I was getting more protein in one or more carbs in the other. It helps make a more informed decision. I now realise this isn't all to common worldwide, so take from this point what you will. I can give some screenshots of what I mean if that helps

As for 5/, that's very moral. Personally, I'd probably just fake a few or ask some friends or repeat customers for some feedback to beef it up a bit. My point was more that by having some products without ratings and no stars, it makes it seem like some products are better than others, which isn't the impression you want to give!

Thank you very much for your feedback! I really do appreciate your time and you have been helpful as I continue to make my operation better. Thanks again!
