On Vacation
Well, i got a disturbing letter in the mail after Madine and I applied for life insurance. It said I was declined due to: DO NOT CARE TO PARTICIPATE

Well, I thought WTF????

I got my lab results back and my triglycerides were 330 (should be 0-150) and my HDL was 26 (should be at least 35).

Well, I am wondering cause they didn't have me fast at all before the test, and I had had about 6 meals at this point, which can cause the tris to be up right? But that much?

Also, I only take about .25mg E3/4D of Adex while I am on. Could that have caused the drop in HDL that much. Last blood test while I was on my HDL was fine and I was doing the same amount i think. But I was only about 8 weeks in.

In any case, I have ended this year-long cycle at 6 months to try and clear things up to get another shot at a later date with LifeIns. But I thought some of you may have some thoughts on this or suggestions for my next cycle. Or just some to increase my HDL. Will coming off be enough?

P.S.

I do regular bloodwork every 8-12 weeks while on.

That would be the first thing that id wonder about. I have always fasted before every test involving cholesterol or triglycerides. Not sure how exactly Id correct the problem myself. My triglycerides were at 330 as well coincidentally, when I was on test/tren and Winstrol (winny). I DID fast for that one. Were you on any 17aa's recently?

Nope, only test/Deca. like I said, i have come off for now. Gonna stay off and get it checked again to see where I am after my post cycle therapy (pct). I have to thik the triglycerides were high because of that, but how high I don't know. I'm just pissed b/c if that is it I could have avoided all this mess by fasting. But I'll have to know for sure for next time.

i am required to get blood work done everymonth becuase i am on accutane..-checking for cholesterol ..etc

and my derm says that if i dont fast for 8 hours the blood tests are useless...

thanks brook, just more to piss me off. lol

any ideas on getting the HDl back up to snuff? Or will coming off for a while get everything cleared up. I have scheduled another blood test with my doc on April 1st. That'll give me over a month to clear up some things.

Get your hands on some Miotolan/Furazabol. It raises hdl and lowers ldl and it's also a steroid. You can even stay on cycle. The research I have been doing shows a months use of it drops bad cholesterol significantly.....I'm sure enough to help you out. PM me and I'll show you some studies.

I'd like to see that info because I couldnt find anything that supports that theory. Why dont you just post them up if you have them.

are you on cycle as well? how is that affecting your blood test readings

Im on 80 mgs/day of accutane and my tryglicerides/cholesterol are through the roof... both are over 200... im trying to decide whether or not to start a cycle. I would have to seriously clean up my diet.

Then you didn't look very hard......that is what it's prescribed for. I'm not on my home pc....when I am I'll post it.

Just to confirm, not fasting does have a significant effect on triglycerides. However, not fasting will have little if any effect on total and HDL cholesterol (reference ). LDL is calculated and with a formula and triglycerides are part of that formula, so if you received your LDL on that test then the number is meaningless.

I had a lipid profile done a few months back and discovered my LDL was 232, HDL was 60 and total CHOL was 311. Not good. I requested some blood tests from my teenage years ago and discoverd similar numbers, which kind of indicates a pretty heavy genetic cause. I apparently should have taken action a long time ago. Anyway, another lipid panel done a few weeks back and, with increased diet and exercise, I have already reduced my cholesterol by over 100 points. HDL dropped just a few points and LDL came way down.

Er...enough about me, sorry. My point is, we are all different. Could gear have caused your bad HDL? Definately, but not for sure. I drastically changed my diet and started doing some cardio, along with the fish oils, and it seems to have helped. I hate cardio, but this thing has pushed me to do it and after some initial frustration, it isn't that bad....my overall mood and energy are greatly increased.

You see, there I go talking about myself again. Just live healthy and hopefully that next lipid panel will look good.

I get what your saying. I came off the gear as a precaution. Just in case. I have been on for 6 months so its time I come off anyway. My LDL was fine and Total CHO was fine, just my HDL and trigylcerides. I am going to wait a month or so. My diet is good, but I really don't do much cardio at all. I will hit up some Niacin and see what I come up with.

Thanks bro.

test and deca can drop HDL significantly, although some people don't seem to have problems at moderate doses, whereas 17aa drugs seem to drop most if not all peoples HDL's significantly. This is at least the conclusion i have come to listening to everyone on the boards and reading their lipid profiles. Do a search under Drveejay, he has some good threads here about cholesterol and how to keep it in check.

thanks jcp2. I do remember reading that article.

I think part of my prob too was not getting enough EFAs. My diet is always lacking in good fats. Guess I need to change that huh?

He also had a link to flavored fish oil, that he said was good. i would check that out as well. Policosinol may keep Hdl in check during a test deca cycle, but remember a dbol jumpstart will probably lower HDL significantly, and i doubt you are going to get it to recover on a test deca cycle, i could be wrong though.

yeah, i did hit some Dbol at the beggining for about 3 weeks (i have since decided that I hate Dbol. lol) so it was prolly a combo of things. Again, why I figure I should just come off, get things straight and get back on after I rest up. I'd rather live than die huge you know? lol

Thanks for everyone's help!!

lmfao.... thanks. funny you should say that. we are getting married in 16 days and she wanted to try celibacy for the last 3 weeks before the wedding (don't ask!!!). No self-gratification or nothing. Been a week so far.... glad I came off the Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) for more reason than one now!!! lol
