For all you Muscle & Fitness readers...

Jiu-Jitsu Blue
For all you guys that read the magazine, I was wondering if any of you have had the balls to try the "arms 1 inch bigger today" routine. I find it absolutely rediculous that they expect you to perform a 5 hour total routine in one day. It's in the latest May 2004 issue with Triple H on the cover. Have any of you tried it yet?

I overheard some dudes at the gym talking/laughing about it at the gym day.

There's no way in hell that will work.

the problem witht those routines is that the guys who write that garbage are either 5' 305 fat asses or 6'3" and weigh 137 lbs. few have even seen the inside of the gym. they are writers that are trying to sell a magazine that could care less if you get any gains. If you buy the mag they make money off the supp companies. Most of the supps are BS too. those guys shoud be brought up on criminal charges for out right frodulant advertising. even arnold (mr genetic recovery freak) himself could not do these routines. no telling how many young men have bought one of these pieces of crap with the hopes of gettin swole in a week or so only to get crushed when reality sets in. many of these once enthusiastic young lifters never make it back to the gym. what a waste. other than the scantily clad babes in these mags they aint worth the paper they are printed on.

Absolutely perfect!

pullinbig, throughout my entire time spent on this board, that has got to be the #1 best post I've ever seen.
rjx, I'll post the routine for you.

at the start of the workout:
Standing Barbell Curl 3 sets 8 reps
-superset with-
Seated Two-Handed Overhead Dumbell Extension 3 sets 8 reps

20 mins into the workout:
Seated Alternative Dumbell Curl 2 sets 12 reps
-superset with-
Two-Arm Dumbell Kickback 2 sets 12 reps

40 mins into the workout:
"Crazy 6's" Barbell Curl 1 set 6 reps
-superset with-
"Crazy 6's" Lying Barbell French Press 1 set 6 reps

Repeat this every hour for five hours total.
Rest 90 second between supersets.

Absolutely rediculous. If this routine is done correctly, I'd expect torn tendons and severely strained muscles from the moron who'd decide to actually go through with it.

OMG thats crazy. Thats 5 weeks of arm workouts in one day. Thanks for posting the routine.

no problem bro.
and unless I forgot to mention, this is apparently supposed to add 1 inch to your arms in one day. Messed up shit...

Synthol is the only way to add one inch in a day.

I've gained 1" in 2 months before. I was ecstatic.

Speaking of which, here's how I gained 5/8 of an inch on my calves in the past month, no shit.

2 sets of 5 reps calf raises on 45 degree leg press, 3 times every 2 weeks. I expect these gains to slow, but the incline leg press so fully works my calves, I could almost feel the progress when I first started. The huge ROM in important.

Previously I did standing calf raises on a v-squat machine, cause that's all that my gym had, other than the leg press of course.

Yeah, I saw that too. (I've got a subscription running until 2005 from when I was young and gullible about this stuff - yes, I'm a dumbass)

I wouldn't really expect any injuries to come from this, as it's really a fairly low intensity program, just extremely LONG. Hell, I'd be the guinea pig to try it, just for shits and giggles, if I had the time and equipment on hand.

And, in fact, I'd expect it to add quite a bit of size to the arms ---AS A PUMP. That's what they fail to mention in the article. All these people who really have no clue what they're doing are gonna go try this, get a 1/2"+ pump, and then be crushed when they wake up the next morning and the arms are back to where they were before, if not smaller.

Muscle and Fiction is such BULLSHIT.

I've read about that years ago. Nothing new. Also read that Arnold and a buddy would also do squats the very same way. I think there is a quote in his book 'education of a bodybuilder' some where. It is used to totally shock the muscle into growth. But of curse you can't workout for a week after .....

A few months back, one of the headlines was "Overtrain for gains!"

HAHAHAHA
