For how long can you use T3 without damaging your system permanent?

Like the titels says, some people say or studies that people use it for 3 years straight and their thyroid recovered 100 procent within a short period time.
Others say the exact opposite, can someone help me out?

I have used T3 myself in doses I would not recommend to others for months, even a year str8 and always recovered just fine. I get my thyroid tested all the time and its always back to normal in less then a month.
