Freezing Preloaded HCG Slin pins.......................

I froze some HCG slin pins a few days ago as my HCG was getting close to being in fridge for 40 days....
I didn't want it to downgrade in its effectiveness cause I am reducing my dose to 350 i.u E3D (from 500 iu. E3D)....
Took a slin pin pre loaded to .35 cc (350 iu.) and there was 0.05 cc missing after I tapped it and let it drip at tip...
Does freezing make air bubbles where tiny amounts of HCG disappear in the freezing process ?

I bet what's happening is that when the water freezes it expands the barrel of the syringe so that it no longer reads accurately.

Very interesting, is this something that is proven to work (preserver the effectiveness of HCG)?

Hello,

Yes, you can freeze hCG. It will not damage the proteins to a significant amount.

Basic chemistry states that the higher the temperature the faster something will denature. The same will apply for hCG so keep it cool, and if you want you can freeze it.

I just refrigerate mine, however it can be frozen as well.

yup it works great. you just can't do a freeze thaw cycle, once its thawed it should not be frozen again.

Thanks for reply....
But a small amount of HCG disappears from the pre loaded syringe after it has been frozen and has thawed...
I might just pre load 30 days worth of medicine from the multi dose vial and keep in fridge...
then freeze the rest in the glass vial....hope it doesn't explode once in freezer cause its glass.

Did you not read my response, or did you reject it? I'm pretty confident I'm right.

The hCG lasts for a long time in the refrigerator too! I wouldn't freeze a vial for the risk it would explode. :-) The rubber stopper can take some pressure but still! The chance is there.

I read it...sounds accurate.

If it's true then no HCG has disappeared and there's no reason not to do as you have done.

There is the possibility that liquid could leak past the plunger if I'm right. Did you notice any looseness in the syringe that you froze and thawed?
Perhaps there is enough elasticity in the plunger seal to compensate.
