i use a triangle file [ small ] from my hardware store . and score completely around the neck before i pop the top with my thumb and ive never busted a amp

Ballpoint pen cap.

what's wrong with an amp opener? it's cheap. it's worth more than its weight in gold IMO.

Even with an amp opener, I've still had glass fall into my gear. I'll have to try the ball point pen top.
