My girlfriend is wanting some serious advise on what the best program as well as products to use. She is wanting to lose some serious weight. I was telling her about T3 and CLEN but I really don't know that much about them. You see we are very different. I strive to gain weight as desparately as she is to lose weight. Here is her situation:

height: 5'5"
weight: 190 lbs.
have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism
eats clean
works out - cardio every other day - other days is weights

She was doing well and about 2 yrs ago went through about 1 yr of lots of stressful situations in her life and gained from 150 to 190 within 1 yr time and can't seem to lose it. She has expressed interest in finding a product that can help her to burn fat and increase her metabolism.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated in what she can safely use as well as the recommended cycles and dosages.

Thanks in advance everyone!!!

I would think the t3 would be a very unsafe decision since she has hypothyroidism. I don't know much about it besides that it does something to your thyroid gland. Clen is okay for most people. Do some research online to see if she thinks it could be for her. I have liked it in the past, try Oxyflux, it's pretty reliable. Good luck!

Hey Rooster...
She was given a typical brand of Levothyroxine which is T4... Doctors always seem to just give this out without extensive testing on the thyroid... I hate generic responses; meaning that every person's thyroid reacts and performs at different levels.. The T4 synthetic provides steady hormone levels which is why it is so often prescribed, but what doctors overlook is that most people can not convert the T4 to T3. T3 is the active form of thyroid. T3 is what keeps the metabolism high etc...

How long has she been on synthroid? Her body may not able to convert the t4 to T3.. The best solution for hypo is a combination of T4 and T3 for balance and metabolism/thyroid stimulation.

Before she self medicates and starts popping pills etc... i would strongly suggest she go back to the doctor or find a better one that is willing to test her bodies response levels to T3 production and measure the free hormone levels.

There is an OTC pill called Armour thyroid. It is desiccated thyroid and has both T3 and T4. That may work for her and be a substitution for the synthroid all together.. it may start her losing weight too...

OR if the doctor wants her to remain on the T4, she can stack T3 (cytomel) to also achieve a balance and a boost in her metabolism... If she can do this, she needs to take between 5-10 mcg of Cytomel after breakfast and after dinner ED.

BUT i really suggest she see her prescribing doctor and she if they can work out a better treatment for her... esp if she is having trouble losing weight and if she is moody (a commom side of low T3 and high T4). That imo is the first and safest step for her to take right now!!!

Hope that helps!!! I feel her pain!! Good luck and keep us posted

luv super

i would have to say that armour made me feel like a new person when i started taking it , i did lose some weight when i started taking it , took about 6 months though. as in the other bad side effects from hypo they suck like fallin asleep at the wheel...lol.

hey tombraidergirl..
were you diagnosed with hypo and given a synthetic prescription? Did you decide to self medicate with the armour or did a doctor suggest it for you?

Thanks for posting your experience!!

well what happend is over time i had gained a few pounds and started to feel really bad as in sleepy all the time and i kept getting my doc to check my thyroid out, me and my hubby both knew what was up though being fit and gaining sudden weight, well took 3 times to find the out i was below i guess i dont know on the scale though that has been like 4 yrs back , i read alot on the internet about armour and wanted to try it , so i went to another doc because the one that i had refussed to try armour..lol, so we found the right dosage to bring me in the norm so im still on it feel fine other than not being able to get under a certain weight .. this is very frustrating for someone that is very dedicated to the gym......so i work with what i can , do you think that the thyroid also plays a role in gaining and loseing muscle???

YES! T3 will rip through muscle; one of the reasons why you see bbers stack clen with it to preserve muscle...
T3 speeds up your metabolism big time...
