Good afternoon. First-time poster.
I've been seeing an endo for some hormone issues.
Some background: Had some wicked severe-ass gynecomastia throughout my teen years. This was not due to any supplements or anabolic steroids. Finally had surgery done when I was 22. But I tell you, it was severe with a fairly large gland behind each nipple.
Got tested a few times and always had high estrogen. Blood test in Jan 2013 said my estrogen was 510 pmol/L with max range of 157pmol/L !
I'm 27, 5'8" 160lbs with about 20% body fat.
Anyways my endo says that he thinks I have late-onset adrenal hyperplasia. He prescribed me dexamethasone, which is a potent glucocorticoid (acts like cortisol), to take at night. I can't sleep when I take the shit but I try anyways. Since taking it I believe I have seen an increased thickness in my arm hair.
The idea is that the medication will lower my DHEAS so that I don't get shut down from too much androgens in my system. I've also heard that androgens from the adrenals are more likely to get converted to estrogen than androgens from the testicles (does anyone have info on this?).
I don't see people talking much about the adrenal glands on this forum. Perhaps taking cortisol at night would help in certain peoples' PCT, if they happen to have highly active adrenals glands. That is, suppressing the adrenal glands may force the balls to work harder to produce testosterone.
