Good mass building program for dl's??

Just finished up a program called the power matrix a few wks ago. Yesterday was my DL day, so tried the 5x5. Was wondering if any of u had any better programs for adding mass/strength mainly for DL's?? Or should i stick to the 5x5?? Is that a good mass builder?? Is it overdoing it for dl's or not so much?? Thanks.

The most effective way i found to train MY deadlift is by doing one set that is hard, and one all out. usually the hard set in the 3-5 rep range and the all out in the 3 rep range. If i am going for a single than i just work my way up doing singles from 455.

So u think the 5x5 would be a bit excessive?? Do say a couple warm up sets, then 8, 5, 3?? Would that be better then 5x5?? Cuz right now dl's take up about half my workout time give or take a little.

I did 5x5 with success until the weights got heavy, than it overtrained me. Now I do two worksets.

Whats heavy?? This wk i did 5x5 dl's at 385lbs. Was pretty beat at the end of that and still had other things i needed to do (lawn mowers, shrugs, etc.). Think i'd be over trainig if i stuck w/the 5x5??

I alternate between regular DL's and DL's with chains.. i only do ME deads once every two weeks, the week in between is just assistance work.

It works for me, I find that deads are VERY taxing and I cant do any more than this.

When you start hitting failure or near it on your second or third set of 5x5 I think that is heavy and overly taxing.
