grams of protein per ounce

I'm talking about in meats and fish such as beef, chicken, turkey, ham, tuna, etc...

I think I read somewhere that per ounce of food protein = 7g of protein. Is this correct? And is it universal for all the food I listed above or do some have more than others?

No, it's not entirely true with all the meats, but it is close. The fattier the meat, the lower the amount, though. Steak would be the lowest protein per ounce, but highest calories per ounce.
