Last monday I injected 1.5 cc's of primo into my left medial delt. Felt fine going in, maybe a little quick, but other than that, no issues.
As the week has gone on, my shoulder has been a bit more sore. I can raise it over my head, but it doesn't feel too great. Feels mostly like the muscle is just real full and doesn't have the ROM to go up. Most of my upper left arm is a bit red, and warm to the touch. And just today (Monday.. 7 days later) I've noticed that my whole left arm down to the elbow is swollen.
I just iced it and took some ibuprofin for the swelling, and decided to put a 20 gauge pin in there to see if I could asparate anything considering I'm starting to worry that it might be an abcess. Nothing asparated, but when I pulled the pin out blood ran down my arm (just blood, no puss or anything).
It's clearly the medial delt that is the cause of the discomfort (mild pain). Also, it's harder than usual when pushed on.
I've never had anything like this happen before, and I didn't change my gear or injecting habits, so I just can't believe that it is an abcess, but I don't know. I have no fever or anything like that.
Anyone have any experience with anything like this? I have a feeling I'm going to get a barrage of "go to the doc and get some antibiotics". Which I'm considering more and more unless I don't have to.
p.s. I pretty much never inject in my shoulders. This is maybe the second time ever. The first was well over a year and a half ago. Maybe just muscle trauma!?
