Hair loss

I'm going to be starting my 3rd cycle pretty soon (waiting on blood results). Going to be T-prop/Mast-Prop/Anavar.

I'm 36 yrs old, no family history of MPB. My pops is 66 full head of hair, Grandfathers on both sides did not lose hair. BUT, is it smart to be proactive about it? Should I add Finastride to my cycle as a preventative measure? If so, what dose? What if any sides are there?

Thanks!

Based on what you wrote, you do not exhibit a genetic inclination toward MPB. Of course familial observation is not a 'perfect' means to detect one's genetic inclination to MPB, it certainly can give some insights.

I WOULD NOT suggest you start using fina as a preventative means unless you begin to demonstrate hair loss.

Along with that, do be very honest with yourself when monitoring your hairline.

Many guys seem to go into immediate denial about hair loss once they notice it. They chalk it up to needing a hair cut and all kinds of other things.

If you start to see a thinning or recession, get to a dermatologist and discuss fina as a treatment.

It is nice to have a "jacked" physique and I get plenty of compliments on it but I'll tell you that no one EVER guess my age even close to accurately because of my teenage-looking head of hair.

Thanks cashout, always appreciate your insight. Will do.

I wouldn't put to much reliance on KCZ to to be an effective treatment for androgen-induced hair loss.

That line of thinking came out of a very poorly done study on 39 men in 1998 and as questionable as the results are they have never again been replicated in a rigorous controlled double-blind follow-up study of any kind.

It actually works pretty well, not relying on studies actual use. I shave anyway so you can really see any areas that shed or grow back, it makes a pretty noticable difference.

Cashout do you believe Dutasteride works better then Finasteride?

I notice you take Dutasteride M/W/F.

Were you using Finasteride before you started the Dutasteride?

someone posted above, Finasteride or Dutersteride and test is the only option you can go with if you want to try to keep your hair. anything else "mild", dht derivitive, 19 nor, everything will cause hair to shed. Anavar (var) will cause hairloss too. just because it doesnt have interaction with the 5Ar enzyme doesnt mean it will not increase hairloss.

dutersteride is the stronger of the two, there are two 5AR enzymes to be blocked, finasteride blocks one, (roughly 80% of DHT), and duter blocks both enzymes, so DHT is blocked over 95%.

at the end of the day if youre gonig to go bald youre gonig to go bald. caution on the ED sides of fina and duter

I did a brief experiment with Duta some time back and it provided me with some very interesting findings.

In a nutshell...

DO NOT USE Duta to mitigate hair loss!

Duta, unlike fina, inhibits BOTH the Type I and Type II 5-AR enzymes.

You need Type I 5-AR b/c it provides the iso-enzyme of DHT that binds with smooth muscle, cardiac, and neuro-based androgen receptors.

Fina ONLY inhibits the Type II 5-AR enzyme. That iso-enzyme of DHT binds specifically with the androgen receptors in different tissue - particularly the receptors in the hair follicles and prostrate.

Use fina for hair loss Duta will eliminate all DHT iso and you don't want that!

I've use fina for 17 years now. I did a brief rotation with Duta for about 3 months to participate in a clinical trial.

I use Proscar at the same dosage.

You mentioned you have been taking Finasteride for 17 years. Have you notice if there has been any progression of hair loss?

Many people say the body becomes accustom to Finasteride after years of use.

Yes.

Don't use Duta - for preventing hair loss, its like using a sledge hammer to push in a thumb tack.

17 years ago, at 24yrs old when I started using fina, I was participating in a Phase III clinical trial.

I had what they classified as Norwood I recession - which was very slight recession around the front of the hair line. Just barely starting to recede and thin.

The study that I was in was interested in measuring user hair regrowth.

The first 12 months I saw significant regrowth. At that point, the study was concluded but I stayed on fina b/c of the significant effect to my hair.

At that time, I started using Rogaine twice a day as well. That also had a significant regrowth on my hair.

To answer your question, no, I've not had any hair loss over the last 17 years while using the drug.

With fina and Rogaine, my hair looks like it did when I was 18 years old. I get as many comments about that as I do my physique.

With as much test as I've put into my body and my genetics toward MPB, without the combination of fina and rogaine, I'd be totally bald by now.

Wow thats awesome that you were able to catch it in time and stick for your regime for that long.

What type of Minoxidil do you use?

I definately have MPB but maybe at a moderate level.
I've know this for many many years, with that said..I still took the chance without buying anything to support hair growth or hair retention during cycle. I hope I don't regret it because my hair has always been thick, I don't mean full, I mean each individual strand of hair was thick. it always felt a certain way when I ran my fingers through my hair no matter for whatever the reason.
Now within the last month I notice that my hair feels a bit more thin and softer. It trips me out. So I got to act on it immediately just for retention. and no i haven't changed to a water softner, and or any other brands of shampoo. Just one more thing to add to my recent tempers.
