Has anyone tried this? Tricks before prejudging

I'm doing a contest in 5 weeks. I've come in fine before by eating a snickers or a random sugar before prejudging. However, this year the prejudging is on friday and finals are on saturday, so I have to choose my prejuding sugar wisely. I thought about this combination before I go on stage, but I haven't tried it before:
Maltodextrine: quickly absorbed and sodium free (so that I don't retain water for finals)
Creatine Ethyl Ester : drawing subcutaneous H2O into the cells
L-Arginine or NO product: Muscular fullness and vasodilation.

If anyone with EXPERIENCE or KNOWLEDGE about these particular supplements (dosage, timing, pros/cons, whatever) for use before stepping on stage around pump-up time...that would be great. Thanks buddies.

i dont have personal experience as i havent ever done a show yet...

however..

when i went with my buddy

right before prejudging he drank a little bottle of wine and then used this oil that actually makes you pretty vascular (and he says its hot) and it smells like cinnamon.

he ate rice cakes to soak up any water (i guess) and for a little energy.

i duno.. sorry im not much help.. theres a lot of people on here to help ya better.

hi

watch out for products that tout " no cholesterol" or " cholesterol free ", because some may contain high levels of trans fat.:p

Well I tried this combo around 7 on friday night, but my "coach" said that I wasn't tight enough. I think the problem was that she had me carb and fat deplete for saturday-wednesday before, then I added carbs wednesday night-friday. I was waaaayyyyy overdepleted so I think my body didn't work with this sugar/creatine/no combo the way I had expected it to. Then saturday I was afraid of holding water so I did avoid sodium, only sipped water, had a glass of wine, took my minerals, still looked a little soft on stage, then I got dehydrated and had to sit in my hotel room for 2 hours afterwards drinking water. I'm going to work with a new trainer this year though so hopefully I won't run into this problem again.

I'm not sure what kind of diet you were on but you probably wouldn't have needed to fat deplete...just carb.

Creatine holds water...I would never use it close to contest time.

If you're going to drink wine to dehydrate I've been told to drink lots for results...not just a little.

Are you sure you lost enough bodyfat? Perhaps you were holding some fat instead of just water?

Tell me about it... I totally disagreed with the fat depleting, but my trainer/coach whatever wanted to see how I responded (keep in mind that I have a hard time gaining muscle, not such a hard time getting lean and I've been coming in around 100 lbs) and apparently i didn't respond very well. she had another girl who weighed about 160 and had trouble leaning out do the same thing, but there is a huge difference in body types to try that on. and I was probably between 10-12% bf so I know I had room to lose more and look tighter. anyway..i'm sort of ranting (I'm still mad about it), but you are absolutely right.
I'm working with someone new now, but I still like to hear what input you have towards this. Out of curiosity, how much wine do you consider a lot? I had 1 glass right before prejudging (7 pm fri night) and another glass the next after noon before finals (also 7 pm)...thanks :)
