Having hair loss thinking about adding hcg

I have experienced alot of hair loss since starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) 6 years ago. I do 80mgs enanthate sunday and again thursday.I have yet to get my E dialed in everytime i try i crash. Have been thinking about adding Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) as I recently read
: Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) increases pregnenolone which increases progesterone (downstream effect) which competes with DHT = lower DHT.

Anybody know if this is correct and could help me to not crash my E and same time lower dht? thx

No that is not correct. In someone who is on HRT, Pregnenolone will not inhibit DHT. It doesn't work that way. The feedback mechanism is interrupted by the testosterone injections and therefore will not work as you described it.

thx Cash. then would it just increase T and also increase dht and E ?

Potentially, yes and here is why. The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) will mimic the effect of LH and stimulate the Lydig cells which will in turn attempt increase the production of testosterone via the testies. Some of the test that is produce could then be available to be converted to estrogen. This is the more likely scenario due to the concentrations of the aromatase enzyme in the cellular tissue of the testies. Some could, however, also be converted to DHT once it is liberated and free in the blood via the 5-AR enzyme.

Now back to the original question, I posted this a couple of times before in other threads because there seems to be some confusion on how the feedback loop for the HPTA actually works.

in a nutshell, yes pregenenolone will suppress test production in those individuals who are not introducing exgounous test into their system. Therefore, that will indirectly lower the possible opportunity for test to convert to DHT by the fact that there is less test available to be convert b/c the body is producing less test.

If you are injecting test, like those of us who are on HRT, there will always be a stable and readily available level of test in the body. If you are injecting test as you are for HRT, pregnenolone WILL NOT "down regulate" DHT in any form or fashion.

For the record, it is not "down regulation." Down regulation is a function of receptors not enzymes or substrates.

Pregnenolone does nothing to inhibit the 5-AR enzyme. In fact, pregnenolone interacts with the 5-AR enzyme just as test dose to convert to DHP just as test interacts with the 5-AR to convert to DHT.

A scientist.
