i want to build my traps and devolop my shoulders in a way that upright rows seem to give. the problem is to do it properly in order to gain mass u need to do them heavy. this means i need to use about 150 lbs, thats a guess i aint done them in a while. but when i do a weight heavy enough to get about 6 or 7 reps it hurts the joints in my shoulders, anyone else hav this problem?

if it hurts your shoulders find a diferent exercise or look at your form how clsoe are ur hands otgether maybe wdien then a bit I on;y pull thie either up to around my nipples

also deadlifts have really help my trap development more than any other exercise

I worked out yesterday and didnt warmup quite as much as I usually do, well soon after workout and into today my rotator cuff's still ache.

so maybe a good warmup is what you need?

more warmups and also try keeping the weight as close to your body as possible , if you sling it up and get the bar away from your body it will put a lot of stress on the shoulder.
