Hi all - just signed on to this forum. I'm a 45 yo who has 25 years on and off of Testosterone. My early use was more related to weight training, now it's more related to fighting father time.

I studied Biochem in college, have read 1000's of scientific articles on HRT, and have experienced hormone manipulation (T, HCG, etc) myself on and off for 25 years and would love to compare notes and share information with anyone going down this road.

I am almost 40, and I WISH I had been on TRT for at least the last few years. I am on a pretty low dose (100mg T Cyp/week). I feel better than I have in.... I don't know...... maybe ever!

If you plan on being on for life slowly work your way up. That's awesome that you are feeling great on 100mg. When you start to notice more roller coaster symptoms after 48 hours of shot, then try to go to shot every 3-4 days, but go up only when you have to!

I don't know all, and wouldn't claim to if I did, but I'd be happy to share 15 years of mistakes and successes of HRT.

Doc prescribed 100 mg every 2 weeks. From what I've read here I suspect this needs to be every week. My first shot was Wednesday (two days ago). How long until I see any benefit. My main symptoms have been lack of get up and go in general and depression.

IMO, it definitely needs to be every week. I would let your body adjust so you can actually feel your ups and downs between shots, then you can talk to your doctor and actually speak truthfully about going to weekly. In addition, your doctor will be able to look at how your blood has adjusted and realize that increasing you to weekly wouldn't cause a problem.

I would think after your fourth shot, you'd start to realize your up's and downs/see a benefit. It's never what you think it's gonna be. It's going to be more subtle but quickly you'll have more "get up and go" and much quicker recovery.

Point of advise, work with your Doc as long as you can. There are Doc's out there who will prescribe ridiculous amounts, and then literally disappear overnight, leaving you without any gear.

Good luck. As said, not a genius, but lots of actual experience, terrible, bad, good, and awesome to share.

Thanks! I do plan on being on for life. I have been on for 6 weeks or so, and will be scheduling my blood test in another 6 weeks, so I can see where I am. Dr. says he wants to see me at 600-700. I am feeling like I would like to see it at ~1000-1200, but I don't know yet how receptive I am to treatment. I am going to have EVERYTHING tested when I do my panels in April, just to make sure I don't have any other issues (liver, kidneys, adrenals, etc.) I can say for sure that I am absolutely a new man. I started feeling better the day after my 1st injection. Now I at least have the motivation to care whether I am healthy or not!

Mastodon and Alldayeveryday,

Wow what a potentially invaluable source of experience and information for people here to learn from!

Would you guys like to share your journeys with us? I for one would be fascinated to hear your regimens over the years, what has worked best, your opinions & beliefs, your philosophies, has it all been worthwhile?! The good (and maybe not so good!) things Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) has done for you...

Please please fire away.....!!!

So that dose is low and should be every week. TAlk to the doctor about the half life of the drug. You don't want to be see sawing with your levels
