Help me dispel/confirm some steroid myths?

I'm very close to giving steroids a go. I'm 24, been lifting about 6 months, had some good gains that I'm happy with but due to work I'm finding it difficult to get to the gym as often as I'd like, and my gains have stalled a little and I'm gaining a bit too much fat. I am hoping that riding a bike will help me make some serious gains again whilst helping to reduce my fat, although I'm going to do a little cut before hand as I understand this will help reduce aromatisation.

Anyway some final issues stick out to me:

1) When you come off your cycle, you will rapidly lose your gains no matter how hard you train?

2) 24 is still too young to cycle

3) You cannot be sure of what you're getting when you order steroids, particularly in the UK it's difficult to get the real thing

4) Anaphylactic allergic reactions are relatively common

5) The side effects of short term steroids can be permanent, eg. permanent erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism

6) You will see significant gains on steroids with or without training

7) You need to eat at least 4k cal per day to see any gains on steroids

8) Once per week depot injections are less effective that IV injections

9) You can see sides such as hairloss and gynae even on a single cycle of 3-6 weeks

If you guys can help answer any or all of these then I'd be very grateful.

Edit: If you've been training only 6 months and are already stalling, you don't know how to train/diet. Just sayin'

1) When you come off your cycle, you will rapidly lose your gains no matter how hard you train?

PCT + smart training will help you keep your gains for a long time.

2) 24 is still too young to cycle

Well... depends on who you ask. I started at 21. I haven't regretted it at all, but I can't predict the future.

3) You cannot be sure of what you're getting when you order steroids, particularly in the UK it's difficult to get the real thing

You can't ever be COMPLETELY sure, unless you brew yourself, but most gear is dirt cheap so unless you order from a scumbag, the worst that happens is that it's slightly underdosed.

4) Anaphylactic allergic reactions are relatively common

Depends on the person. It's not that common.

5) The side effects of short term steroids can be permanent, eg. permanent erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism

People can die walking to work, too. Shiz happens. Use this stuff wisely, and it's highly unlikely that you'll suffer permanent damage (Other than addiction, lol)

6) You will see significant gains on steroids with or without training

If you're untrained, eat well, and inject loads of gear... sure, you may gain 5-10 lbs initially. Gaining even WITH gear is hard, though, so unless you want to look like a skinny underwear model you're gonna have to train hard.

7) You need to eat at least 4k cal per day to see any gains on steroids

That's a statement made totally in a vacuum and doesn't consider energy expenditure, height/weight/etc. However, when taking anabolics, food is a very good thing.

8) Once per week depot injections are less effective that IV injections

I'm unsure why you'd want to inject gear IV.

9) You can see sides such as hairloss and gynae even on a single cycle of 3-6 weeks

Well yes. It's possible. Plan ahead and keep track of what's going on with your body. You have to be responsible with this stuff.

If you have only been lifting for 6 months you have no need for steroids. Take the time to learn your body. After only 6 months I would be surprised if you even know what it is suppose to feel like when you are truly working a muscle. It's something that's hard to explain but I'm sure most of us at one point or another have been asked by someone "how do I know I'm working the right muscle?" After years of training you learn to feel that specific muscle in a way that can't really be described. Sure I can point or tell you where you should be feeling it but it goes well beyond that. My point is you haven't even learned to crawl but you are wanting to race in the Olympics.

edit: spelling .... damn public school system failed me

Thanks guys, I'm still a bit uncertain re how long the sides last though. I mean things like libido and erectile issues, why would they ever be permanent?

In terms of my only having lifted 6 months, I agree that's not very long, but I'm finding it hard to make gains at the moment due to the amount I'm working. When I can get to the gym it's often after a long day and I'm very tired, do my best but the intensity is not as good as it could be. My diet is very good though.

If your not making gains now after only working out for six months your diet/training sucks. Someone that starting out lifting for the first time ever should see gains well above what steroids can do for you. That is if you're training hard and eating right. Get your diet and training down first. Then after a couple years you can reconsider gear.

Most folks who turn to gear by choice do it after years of training and are at a dead end physically amd naturally and want more. You have been lifting for 6 months. You r nowhere near your platau. Please take 3 or 4 yrs to really see what you can accomplish naturally before doing anythong at all even natural test booster. Ypu want my advise. Eat properly dp 2 grams of protein per body weight and get some creatine and your good.

Like I said, doing all of that, although 1.5g perotein per lb as more than that has been shown to be useless.

What I'm saying is my time and intensity at the gym is being limited by work and I was wondering if AAS was a way to counteract that and continue making gains, if not then fine, but that is my specific requirement.

If your time at the gym is being limited by work how is taking steroids gonna change that???? Youve been lifting for 6 months..your a virgin..id put my paycheck on it you dont even no what 3/4 of the equipment in the gym is used for what bodypart and what it does..you not ready..not even close..

Bro, I work 6 days a week, 60+hrs, every week on nights. I make time 5 days a week for the gym. Plus I have an old lady and a life. Stop making excuses for laziness. Steroids is not a replacement for hard work

You should definetly wait, train for longer before you start the gear. Learn your body more. Take your time. There is no rush. I know its not what you want to hear. But its the best advice.

I've wanted to be big like a bodybuilder since I saw Terminator as a little kid. When I hit 28 a friend introduced me to the darkside... and I Fucin love it. You read about tons of bad sides and get scared but honestly and OTC drug can mess you up more. Just like Alcohol vs Maryjane, they can all mess you up. With that said, hair loss and roids is based mostly on genetics... acne and roids... I got a bump or two, nothing bad, showered with face wash, gyno and roids... take nolvadex, small nuts and roids... well it's temporary and if you do your research before you pin you know how to counteract it the correct way... I'm new to it and i felt like a puss before my first shot but I took it like a man and after 4 weeks I felt like superman.

But like Jmeals said, 6 months, I wouldn't do it so quick, your body has to adjust to the pain and gain naturally first....Just my $.02

dude you've trained for 6 months, steroids aren't a miracle drug, your having difficulty getting to the gym... steroids wont make you go to the gym, im assuming ur diet is shit because ur gaining "a bit to much fat", bike riding doesn't give you serious gains.... to reduce your fat reduce ur calories and clean up your diet....seeing as your just a beginner you dont need to cut, do a lean bulk, youll gain muscle + lose fat..., seriously op, steroids aint for you.....
