High blood pressure? anyone else??

Illtemper

since ive started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) ive been dealing with elevated blood pressure, Its not that its screaming high but its over normal.. I check it everyday since i went to my doc and he was concerned about it along with my high hemoglobin levels..

Since then my diet is super clean, i know you are what you eat and really aside from the ocassional can of coke at lunch sometimes and bbq sauce ( i need for chicken) my diet is really clean.. I recently have been turned on to eating fish and for a snack ill mix up some canned salmon (drained) with some lime and cilantro..

with my diet on key lately, and nutrition supplements on. What could be causing the elevated blood pressure?? Can testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) alone be causing it?? How do i solve it??

Also, ive been reading that taking apple cider vinegar is great for your skin (acne) and for normalizing blood pressure. Has anyone had personal experience with this at all???

Same happened to me. I was taking it for 5 weeks, then one day BAM I felt weird, and took my BP. I normally run 120-130 / 70-80 It was 184/110. For me it was sodium. I also gained 18.5 lbs of water. So I just watch how much sodium I take. My bp went back to the high side of where I was pre HRT. In my specific case I talked w/Chip, and he halfed my T just to be cautious. I felt worse on half of what I was taking, so it got bumped back after a couple of weeks, once my BP was OK. I'll get blood work after a couple more weeks. In my case I aromatase pretty heavily, but my body doesn't like the lack of HGC, or T. I was also told that if my E is high, I will gain water weight, and my BP will rise. They seem to correspond proportionally for me. Hope this helps.

Anyone chiming in helps! I was hoping i wasnt alone on this... I need to get a full blood panel and go from there i know, i was just wondering if it was going on with others also...

I was concerned about this and cut my own test down to half to see and just like you said i was feeling pretty shitty, i was getting irritated, couldnt sleep i was back to waking up about 4times a night to piss which is what used to happen to me pre-hrt and then the hammer wasnt as solid (you know what i mean) My blood pressure was still about the same as now but a little less. Im back up to what my protocal is for so we'll see what happens...

Im gonna keep on my diet and watch my sodium levels and see but there isnt much sodium in chicken or brown rice.... The canned salmon and tuna have some, more then i care for, but not enough to worry about..

I hope more people give their opinion!

Same thing was and is happenning to me. Blood pressure was already normal high and now it's a bit higher on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). 140-90 Wake up after 2 hours of sleep and just lay there almost like anxiety symtoms with nothing to have anxiety about. I am combatting high estrogen with daily 1mg adex and feeling better each day though. So me own evidence supports the high estrogen relationship.

Increased T levels often increase blood pressure. Lots of ways to combat this. A lower dose of T may be best. Alternatively, you could ask your doc to prescribe something like Atenolol. Some people get results using a supplement like L-arginine.

I get higher blood pressure when on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). My general doctor came me a Rx of Lopressor, a beta blocker which slows my resting heart rate and lowers the BP a bit.
This along with watching sodium and a clean diet has been keeping it in check.

Packgus, are you still able to train while taking a beta blocker? I took them for migraines a decade ago and I thought I was going to pass out during sports since my heart would not keep up with demand. Just curious.

I was (still am) having similiar issues with blood pressure. I don't know if it's directly related to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or if I just became more aware of it during the same time frame that I started (I'm thinking more of the later). But I'm doing as much as I can to combat it through diet rather than medicine, so far it looks like I'm making progress. My BP seems consistantly lower after only the first couple weeks.

Try looking into the 'DASH' diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension). It's a highly regarded diet specifically aimed at lowering high blood pressure. Nothing like "cut all fat, or all carbs" type fad diets. In fact, I think it's pretty much based off the food pyrmid concept. With emphases on monitoring your sodium intake.

Also, look into the benefits of drinking pomegranate juice or beet juice. Theres a couple interesting studies (I'd have to look for them again but they are probably not hard to find) showing that drinking a glass a day of either has a significant impact on lowering blood pressure just by themselves.
