High hematocrit want to donate blood

I'm on trt and my hematocrit is high, so I want to donate blood. I can't remember the last time I donated blood. Maybe 25-30 years ago. Do I just go in and say I want to donate? Do they ask why? What do I say, and not say?

Just go in and answer the questions. You can see them in advance on their website. Things like have you had anal intercourse with a prostitute? Have you had malaria? You don't need to tell them why you want to donate blood. You are doing it to help save lives, right?

Hey bro, just gave last night. Just answer NO to everything. If not, you'll have to explain on some of the yes's. It's not a big deal, one pint of blood can save up to three lives:) it's a good thing, and I could swear I just feel better to get a pound of blood out:) Placebo I'm sure

TRT is not a deferral, so you can be honest about it. Just don't say anything about hematocrit as that leads to suspicion where you require therapeutic phlebotomies.

I'm pretty friendly with the gals down at the red cross, and they cover their ears when I calculate my HCT from the hemoglobin test.

It's win/win for everyone, so withholding a little information isn't going to hurt anyone imo.

Lol...
where do you donate blood big guy!!
they dont ask that. They ask the donating individual if they have engaged in sexual activity with a person whos sexual past they do not know as well as homosexual relations.
I never seen them ask details regarding sexual acts into which orifice etc..

You use clean needles right?
Pharmacy grade Test?
You need not worry.
No need in spilling your guts either.
Just donate like anyone else.

I'm on high bp medication(lisinopril). Do they ask about that? Do I tell them I'm on trt?

They take a small sample and use a portable reader like an ultracrit.

If you're at top normal labcorp range you will be fine. The turn you away at around 55 hct, or 18.3 hgb. Try to be well hydrated.

They don't ask about meds in general, only if you're taking something on a specific list (blood thinners, ECT).

If you haven't donated ever ior in a long time, they may ask you why now. I answered honestly - I believe that people who do this for a living get a pretty good bs detector.

If they ask why I want to donate, would this be an ok response?
"I went to the doctor, and my bp is high, my triglycerides are high, and my hematocrit is high. Along with adjusting my diet, he said donating blood would help."

Just tell them that a friend told you he was doing it and it seemed liked a good way to help people so you wanted to do it to.

Lisinopril is totally fine. They have an actual list in the book you have to read before you donate.

How about, "I was just curious about the whole donating thing, and I even heard it is good for your health!" Nothing in that statement is a lie, and it does help explain your behavior/attitude towards the process.

You'll be fine, I promise.

The workers have never asked me why I want to donate. Actually they don't ask you much of anything. They sit you in front of a computer that asks the questions. I would not mention any medications because there is a huge list of them that will disqualify you. One of the questions is have you taken anabolic steroids. They even ask if you have been out of the country in the last few years ect....

If one of the questions asks if I've ever taken anabolic steroids, do I answer "yes", because I'm on trt?

Go online and read the actual questions they ask you. Stop trying to guess what they might ask you. It is all out there in plain view on the internet.

I just went yesterday after long time and gave blood....YES!! they do ask those questions...lol.
Ever had homosexual sex? Anal unprotected etc. Crazy but safety
