High platelets high prolactin

Bloody Q

I am banned!
Im on testosterone for 2 weeks. My blood work came. My platelets high a bit. 422! Is that important?

My testosterone 1050 ng/dl
Estradiol 23 pg/ml

But my prolactin is 19 ng/ml ! Why guys? Normally my prolactin level was 7. But before first testosterone shot, it was 17. Because i did heavy workout. Heavy workouts increase my prolactin. But why prolactin is high now?

We are going to need much more info. What is your test dosage? 350mg/week or so would be my guess based on the fact that your free test is only 1050ng/dl. Are you only on test? I've only had prolactin as high as yours on 19nors

You've only been on for two weeks and already have high platelets and prolactin? I do not think that is the test causing it..

Platelets are from not performing maintenance while cycling. The spleen will destroy the excess ones eventually, but I'd imagine your hematocrit is also high. You need to donate blood.

There are MANY factors that can elevate prolactin. Some medicines like antidepressants or some hair solutions can do this. Remember too, a blood test is literally a snapshot in time - it could be totally different a day later. If you're not experiencing prolactin sides, I wouldn't worry yet. If you notice that you still have elevated prolactin, and start having issues - then I would dig a bit deeper.

My .02c :)

Wow. I did cut antidepressant a few day ago. Probably thats the cause. Now. Why my platelets high? My HCT is 47. So HCT is fine. RBC is fine. But platelets are high. Should i donate blood?

Platelets rise just like red blood cells in the presence of exogenous androgens. You're not in dangerous territory yet, but it would be a good idea to donate.

I think ONE donate would be enough while on test only cycle. What do you think?

It depends on what your body is doing. If you're crapping out blood solids like crazy, donating very frequently is best. If your HCT sits at 40% and platelets seldom rise above 300k, once may be enough.

It also matters if you cruise/TRT or PCT.

I know this is brought up all the time, and I do see it often in others bloodwork.. but I NEVER have experienced a rise in HCT or RBCs at all.. even on my more 'heavy' cycles. I haven't needed to donate at all ever in the last few years. Am I just lucky or what? Lol

Very lucky. I have to donate even as part of my TRT as my red marrow just goes NUTS.

Yeah lucky. I am lucky with estradiol. If my T is rising, my e2 is reducing. I dont know why. But seems stable at 20s. My T is 1050 now.
