High Test-

My wife is a nurse, and she's telling me that having a testosterone level above normal can cause problems... She doesn't know what problems, but she keeps telling me I need to lower my dose.

Anyone care to share comments about hazards of keeping T higher than the normal range?

I had a blood test done recently that shows me testosterone level is 37 (8.6-29) normal range.

I thought it would be a good idea to try and keep my level high for a few months, then lower it down a little bit later.

What's your blood look like ? Hematocrit and hemoglobin , how about cholesterol , all are affected by test levels , blood pressure ok?

Elevated blood pressure, increased red blood cell count, and possible estrogenic sides caused by aromatization of what your body feels to be excess testosterone. All of these are treatable, but if you run really high levels of testosterone, you are at a risk of cardiovascular complications such as an enlarged heart. That is a strange range in my opinion as most labs I've seen allow for levels up to 1197ng/dL and your total test happens to be at 1067.15ng/dL. Do you know if that range has been age weighted by chance?

My urologist only told me to get my testosterone checked. When I asked him about the testosterone converting into estrogen he didn't have a clue. And when I asked him if he could write a prescription for a pill to help control my estrogen, he got out his drug book, and asked me what drug I wanted. But I forgot the exact spelling.

After reading on here, I asked the lab for the women's hormone panel blood test. But things are different here in the Philippines. The lab wants to charge me for every additional test separately.

And some of the test names either weren't available, or called something else. I was asking about SHBG sex hormone bonding globulin and they had no idea what I was talking about...

So, I kept it simple and just ordered testosterone, estradiol which came back high at 90 on a scale of (7.6-42.6) sodium and potassium, which were both normal.

I went to the pharmacy and asked for arimidex, with no prescription and got it no problem. I started taking .25 every 3 days, but was still feeling like crap. So tried .25 every other day. Noticed I felt a lot better on the days I took the dex, so now I'm trying .25 every day.

My blood pressure was always 120 over 70 until I started taking potassium citrate, and sodium bicarbonate for chronic uric acid kidney stones. Now it usually runs 130 over 80.

I have no idea about the testosterone range... I'm 46 by the way.

Thanks for sorting out the numbers for me.

So what your saying, is my levels aren't really that high compared to the way labs rate test in the USA?

I've been on .3cc of enthante in the muscle every 3 days. But I started injecting the same amount into my belly fat a week ago.

You're on the high end of normal by US standards, enjoy the fact that you can get there with such a small amount of test! :)
