How important are filter needles when drawing from an amp?

I saw a forum post, someone said you should always use a filter needle when drawing from a glass ampule

No need for it.... Physicians don't even use them... Just use a drawing pin, and change.. easy peasy japoneasy!

I've used amps before, only thing I'd say is be careful for little glass shards that could have possibley broke off and landed into the bottom of the ampule. I've actually had this happen. So I just made sure not to draw up the glass. That's probably why you heard this warning to use a filter. 23 gauge needle is big enough to draw up a small shard. I only use vials anymore:

I have used amps off an on for 20 years never used a filter just take ur time with the amp the are easy to open and use just don't be In a rush and be careful with it they are wonderful

The head a few times to get the oil down the. Apply pressure and snap
