How much cardio is needed??

Ok, so I'm on a set plan for leaning out in the next 8 1/2wks.
I have my diet in line (many thanks to 3J's help) and my training plan scheduled so that I don't plateau over the weeks. But I'm still unsure as too what would be a good cardio plan for myself.

I have read many articles from pro's and fitness experts as well as asked some of my fit friends and it seems that everyone really has a different opinion on cardio.

I am just curious what you guys think. How much and what type of cardio is needed to lean out??
 
I walk/hike on the treadmill above a 12% grade for 30-45 minutes within 1/2 hour of waking up on an empty stomach.
I do take some liquid amino's before I head out
the door so my body is not cannibalizing
on it's self. I eat breakfast when I get home.
Lift in the afternoon.

X2 almost exactly for the morning stuff except i go 60 minutes in the AM and try to do pwo cardio after workouts except on leg days.
