How much rest between sets.

I read this in M.D and tought i would pass it on. Its in the march 07 issue.Weight training programs manipulate resistance,sets reps,and rest.Changing even one of these factors affects the capacity in the others.For ex a short rest interval reduces the capacity to lift heavy weights or perform mor sets or reps.The proper rest interval depends on the goal.Rest longer if the goal is max strength development 5 minutes or more between sets.Rest 3 to 5 mins when lifting loads less than 90% of max effort.Rest 3 mins when training for power,and take short rest periods 30 to 60 seconds when attempting to boost growth hormone levels .short rest of 30 seconds for endurance.
