How often do you change your workout routine?

I have been doing the same routine for about 2 months now and I'm about to change it up. I am starting to hit a plateau. How often do you guys switch up your routine? I have three workout routines that I fallow and usually change them every couple months. Is this pretty much standard? It seems to be working for me. But how often do you change yours?

I change mine for every work out. Meaning I do different exercises every time for that muscle group. Each week it is different. But that is just what I do. Everyone is diff.

wow you are stupid ! if you do strength training your suposed to stick to strength training. if your doing endurance training your suposed to stick to it. the only thing that changes is your amount of reps and your mind set. personally if your workout is proper then you dont need to worry about changing it as much as you dont want to! changeing your workout ,yes will benifit you in the sense that your encouraging new muscle dinamics, but it will also take time to recover properly and get back on track.

@Yabuddy

if you are new to body building the best thing you can do is stimulate your muscles by doing some endurance and strengh trainign at the same time so i would recomend doing 3 excersizes all at once for 4 sets without any pausing. dont go to heavy and work your way up. that way you will excite your muscles properly and you can judge each muscle group on its own. it should take you 2-3 weeks to figure out your base of where yoru starting. once youve maxed out your strength your now lifting heavy so move on to chaneg your workout if you please and start over, or continue to lift heavy. yes change is good but no i would stick to your routine and push more heavy weight. it all depends on what you mean by change workout routine. you can always incorporate a new excersize into your existing workout but if you change yoru intire routine you will suffer from it. hope that was helpful

Calling someone stupid because they do something that works for them is really really SMART. I have 3 different styles of training i do, which i swap in and out every 2 weeks, and im seeing results. I must be stupid too :)

no im spamming you, you little scammer i bet ! your account is not even 2 months old and youve made over 500 posts. YOU go fuck yourslef clearly you have to muvch time on your hands !!! GTFO

yoru not and im not saying it wouldnt work out for you, all im saying is that if he wants to workout properly, and he says hes hitting a plateau then he shouldnt change his entire routine because that would be stupid. why change what is clearly a good workout...change one excersize for yourlsef and work slowly on it. if he really is hitting a plateau he should be using more control !

Gotcha. I do heavy training 2 weeks or so with barbell, then 2 weeks heavy dumbbells, back to barbells lighter weight but high reps for 2 weeks then the same for dumbbells. Works for me

thats great because 529 useless posts, 1oo of them is defending your right to post the forum.100 is telling other people they shouldnt post on the forum.another 100 posts dedicated to defending your oppinion of other people. 100 posts of abosute poor quality information. and the rest of your posts are you trying to get to some kind of pointless post count in the shortesst time possible LMFAO (id give you guiness world records but they dont deal with morons)

personally, i keep my workouts relativaly the same throught the month. if im bulking, which i hate doing because its boring, then i stick to heavy weight training and change my workout as little as possible. when i am cutting, that is another story. i love that shit. ill change my workout exstensivly. every 2 weeks if i could.

Ohh Maplestring... Less is more buddy. The less u post, the more better it is sonny..

no, more is always better! again with sucha high post rate and bad rputation i would say your post count is 50% useless. just judging this thread you make my point.
